Yager, who's ACTUALLY a legit prospect is off to a big ass start. six goals, four assists for 10 points in 5 games.
Scoring PPG in the VHL is harder than scoring 2 points per game at the begging of the season in the W imo.

Yager is by far superior prospect but Tankov is definitely a “legit prospect”. Just gonna be a while before he comes over.

No, not quite. They've got the KHL (NHL equivalent -- the majors), the VHL (the AHL -- minors), and the MHL (CHL -- the Juniors).
Forgive me for being difficult here, but their KHL is not legitimately on the level of the National Hockey League If we're honest about it. It's probably closer to an AHL level. I get your point but they're best league over there wouldn't compete well with the best league over here. So it would be a decided step down one might say.

Yeah, would be very encouraging to see him dominate the WHL at a 100pt pace as a D+1. Just needs to get bigger. Put on 10 lbs this year and hopefully crack the NHL lineup next year.

Very early still in his development, but I feel very confident that he will be a fixture here sooner than later. And the great thing about him is beyond his offensive abilities he's not a liability away from the puck either.

needs to get the a's up (keep a balance of a+g) if he's going to play center.

Still pissed that Benson was right there but I don't think there's much to complain about with Yager. An intelligent player with a great release. If he can get his weight up and get some explosiveness to his skating, he'll be a blue chip prospect which would go miles for the Pens once they lose Sid/Geno

Switch Benson and Yager and Yager might be in the NHL with Buffalo now while Benson is back in juniors.

2 organizations with completely different developmental philosophies. I wanted Benson too, but I'm not going to get too worked up over his early successes. We'll see in 4 years or so.

You couldn't ask for a better start to the season than Yager's putting up right now. And I can say without equivocation that Yager is a more complete player than Benson. I wanted Benson myself, but in the long run Yager might be the better player. Let's hope so.

Yes and no. The problem with judging Tankov's legitimacy as a prospect is that most Russians with the talent aren't still in the VHL at his age. Obviously we all know about the difficulties he's faced but personally, I struggle to get that excited until he's reaching the KHL and showing he's fully on track.

I think it's pretty clear Yager focused on defense last year to show teams he is not just a one dimensional boom/bust guy. Now that the draft is done, he's letting it rip again.

Sully has been bamboozled.
Actually he focused on setting up his wingers and at times forcing pass and instead of just taking off he was waiting on them to catch up. because the coach told him "if you are going to play center you need to start making your wings better." his assist's went up but his goals (and play) suffered. imo
