This honestly seems like an overpayment by St. Louis, but I'm not complaining.

Mikheyev was traded with a 2nd but brought back a 4th, and Mikheyev makes about $1.2 million more a year on the same term.

Hayes only has 2 years left making less than 4 mil a season. This deal makes absolutely no sense when you have 10 mil in cap space. Just staple him to the 4th line or the press box. No reason to move him and add a 2nd.
