Wasn't there a WJC where some were saying Alex was the more talented Nylander? Willy got concussed in that one iirc. Maybe it was just cope from Tre Kronor fans.

Here we are 4 NHL stops later. He's not a Norris threat, but it's still somewhat amazing to me that the Sabres got Jokiharju for him.

Bemstrom's pretty good. Seems like a good project for Pittsburgh.

I'm guessing CBJ/Cleveland is going to be a stop over for Alex Nylander and he ends up on the Marlies in Toronto at some point.

The worst part of the Pens hiring Dubas is having whinging Leafs fans in EVERY thread Pens-related now.
I'd give you 10 likes if I could! Yep! This is lunacy! lol

I might be crazy but wasn’t Bem on waivers this season? I’m happy to get anything for him…
I think because we had to shed a contract. We were close to 50.

Nice distraction trade.
The main event(s) are soon to come. Jake, Smith, Eller maybe Jarry? Why... All can be had, if the price is right.

I thought weird trade conditions like this weren't allowed anymore. I don't like it, it introduces the possibility of shenanigans.

What are you implying, that penguins might bench EB to avoid the benchmark over the difference between a 6th and 3rd round pick 2+ years away?

When you spell it out like that it doesn't seem very realistic at all.

Unsure, benching a 4th liner for a couple games when the team is out of the playoff hunt doesn't seem too unrealistic. Either way, it's the possibility I don't like, just make the pick a 4th or 5th and be done with it.

I'm okay with it as a Jackets fan. Bemstrom will be one of their best options to fill in in the top six and we've seen him score in bunches. He might hit 6 goals quickly. If he doesn't and it comes down to the final games of the season then the Pens can scratch him if they want, that's their call.

A rather strange Hail Mary attempt by the BJs.

There's no deep field shot. Neither a 3rd or 6th are worth much, and Nylander is not an NHLer. The Jackets (or CBJ, not BJs) are just nabbing a pick for a player who deserves a bigger role than they can give him.

I liked when we benched our goaltender that was playing well. Next year we drafted Mario. Sweet, sweet shenanigans.

The season could end and then the NHL will just rip your pick from you and give it to them

Wasn't Pittsburgh's power play awful? Bemström's shot is high caliber on the PP. Other than that, he's an okay bottom six player. Nothing fancy about him except for his shot.
