One to forget. Frustrating game. Played a really good first then shit the bed for 40 min.

Officials were terrible. Pens played a good defensive game but were helped a ton by missed calls.

I dare anyone to find the history of only the last 5 years in NYR/Pens games in which what team had more PP's.

I guarantee its at least 70% Pens advantage. The refs continue to bless Crosby and co.

One game does not a sample make, but based on today I think we'd match up pretty well with Pit in the playoffs. Add KK and Chytil back in plus a likely middle 6 forward or two and I'd fancy our chances
That is "if" Pitt doesn't grab what we need BEFORE we do. They ALWAYS make an acquisition before the rest of the league does especially us.

They played a good game against a damn good team. Take it as a learning experience.

Now I'll check out before all the doom and gloom bullshit.
That is so true . Have to look at the big pic here...Jones/Schneider/Barron in the game as rooks and then Laf/Miller basically not that far removed . Watching them play yesterday was rewarding despite the loss . Crosby and Malkin were testing the kids at every chance . I thought they did OK especially for a road contest and the Penguins . We are still a work in progress and still have some assets not utilized yet and of course still have our first rounders as well . The sky is not falling by any means...we can't win them all .

Imagine if we had Panarin money invested in Crosby . I think our team would look a bit different . He is such a competitor and leader . Never takes a shift off....

This.

He also does it on the breakouts. He does it all over the ice. Receives the pass and immediately looks pass. And Strome does it too.
Don't get hit and just collect a check . He has no legs and cannot out skate anyone other than Reaves ....and how many more years ?

Anyone else have a suspicion that Panarin has been playing hurt for a while now?
Must be on account of his wallet causing the imbalance in his hips and hurts his skating ....Walletitis ....it is one disease that has always plagued the Rangers . The only know treatment for it is time and or a Buy Out .

I didn’t see the game but from what I saw in the last ten days and what I’ve read tonight, I think Strome may be playing his way out of any contract extension talk.
He is not the type of C this up and coming club needs . He is so far removed from what we actually need ....I hope that they have not even considered dealing with his agent . Trade him...let him walk...whatever....he has to be a memory soon .

You really bent on giving it to him aint you
Was it the weight of Kreiders wallet that had him injured or the burden of Zib's that made hm play like an Ahler

Cmon the guy had 19p in 12gp recently
Wtf do you want? Hes playing with Strome (1+1 at ottawa after the break, -1 in 4-1 vs caps and oh yeah those two penalties.. Wish it was 3 so we could proclaim the Strome Hatty) and without an RW

He is the second coming of Yashin. Some glad it was the Fishsticks that got stuck with him . He is POISON . He could not carry Crosby's jock.....now there is a great hockey player . He is just out of shape and does not give a damn since he will be paid . I'm kind of waiting for him to take another 3 weeks off any day now. The clock is ticking on that one.....

I remember people thinking that he wouldn't play much when we re-signed him. Good times.
We’re down 3 forwards since the preseason for various reasons in Kakko, Blais, and Kravtzov, which is why he’s playing now. It makes no sense for him to be in the lineup over Chytil but pretty sure the plan prior to the year was for him to be an extra forward or in Hartford

And we are outraged by putins cronies (possible) lines of thought...

Panarin needs to shoot more but Strome kills that line. He’s done nothing but fumble passes and miss the net since the break. They need more skill on that line, with it without Strome. JT Miller please

I'm willing to bet Fox has been playing through an injury for the past few months. I mean, he eventually missed time due to it but I think he'd been hurt for a while and it got aggravated at that point where he had to sit and him coming back isn't him at 100% just him at a good enough level to play.

Would not shock me at all when our season ends to find out he's having some sort of surgery.

I thought he was fine yesterday.
He made a couple of plays where the puck should have been in the back of the net. The slap pass to Kreider in particular.
It's pretty obvious that the opposition's playbook on Fox is to hit him every chance they get.
One thing that drives me crazy is watching Panarin give the puck away at the blueline over and over again. I know he's trying to make a play, but he needs to know when to chip it deep.
Also, I continue to think the team will let Strome go if he demands too much money or term. He can be a useful player, but he can also be easily replaced for less $ (less than his discussed new deal).

Not sure if posted yet. But it was a very even game.

That loss yesterday was nothing to be ashamed of. Rangers played a full 60 minute game and only gave up that one PP goal by a future hall of famer. Our boys will live and learn. THIS is when the lessons that are learned will teach what's needed for the playoffs.

Refs are going to swallow the whistle like this in the playoffs. Get used to it.

Been saying this for the last 2 weeks. We will not have success in the playoffs with 69% less power play opportunities. Penalties in October suddenly become legal in March. It happens every. Single. Year.

And what the f*** was Gerry doing with the Reaves line on the ice in the final 3 minutes? Gauthier was buzzing and should've gotten moved up. Panarin was one of the worst players on the ice. Ryan Strome has lost his game for a while now. He's been pretty bad
