Shame, he was odd at times, but I loved his knowledge of the game. Few individuals in the world are as passionate about their field of work.

Plus he gave us "How's your breath?" which should have automatically put him in the HoF.

I first met Pierre after he was named assistant coach of the Babson College Beavers under the tutelage of future Islanders coach Steve Stirling, whose son Scott led the Atlantic City Boardwalk Bullies to a Kelly Cup back in 2003. Back then I had plenty of discussions with is dad, Rex, and his mom, Sally, and we all knew that he'd be a special broadcaster and any team that picks him up was going to be really glad they did.

I really enjoy his passion and how many useless hockey facts he presents. I find it entertaining, but thankfully only deal with it once in a while. With all their cuts, I wonder if Rogers might throw money at him and bring him in on their broadcasts to moonlight. God, I hope not.

That's a sad news. Pierre is a great hockey personality and probably the most passionate hockey announcer on any national network these days. I don't care if he says some weird stuff here and there. He had been authentic on the crew with Edzo and Doc. Boucher is boring as hell. Barely better at commentating than goaltending at which he sucked.

I actually don't mind him with Gord. That's where his school analysis comes in handy. It has no use in the NHL.

I’d love to see McGuire back with TSN, as much as a weenie as we all know he is... I get a lot of entertainment out of his style of commentating. I miss him doing the WJCs.

He's a weird dude and has some odd quirks but I always liked him. He's entertainment by himself alone and it's tough to argue against his passion.

Love his passion for the sport and the knowledge he brings. He's not your typical cookie cutter commentator and that's a good thing. Glad he will still be doing games at least. They always say the minority is always the loudest. I think most people are fine with him.

I'm surprised by the number of people who don't like this move. I always thought he was terrible and detracted from the game being shown.

I think this is the best thing to happen to broadcast hockey in a decade.
