Guy plays hard/well about 30% of the time, and not enough to justify that contract. As a Jet fan, I am grateful he decided he didn’t want to play in Winnipeg and even more grateful to Rob Blake for generously accommodating the Jets.
Yeah this totally doesn't sound like "we can't wait till you're miserable like we have been since he f***ed us over cause why would we be happy that he's doing well on the team that got him for free when our GM made one of the worst trades in recent years".
"He only had six goals, but man, let's just be happy he had a lot of 'expected goals'"Man all these comments are groundhog's day
'snake bitten' 'look at the metrics' 'who cares we are winning'
Like we are happy you are happy but fans of three other organizations have seen this movie before so calling it 'hate' is a funny label for 'history'
Those numbers are on a team playing well, where there is presumably some motivation and energy to carry driftwood like him. If that tails off...........well you know what happens to driftwood.8 points 14 games this year
So is that on pace for like 40 points this year. Maybe he "finds" his game and he always was thought to have the talent to get there
Blake is still an idiot don't care what team Dubois plays for. He started this mess.
Because he is lmaoBud you called Kuemper a trashcan
Because he is lmao
I mean when Duber starts to look like a trashcan out there nobody's gonna mince words on that lol. But he really hasn't. I guess everybody just eagerly waits for that to happen .I don't disagree
You can't have it both ways though
Ima be honest. I hope he fails.Yeah this totally doesn't sound like "we can't wait till you're miserable like we have been since he f***ed us over cause why would we be happy that he's doing well on the team that got him for free when our GM made one of the worst trades in recent years".
I did like him in the start in Winnipeg then he sort of gave up and got lazy quick. Vilardi has been great for us, 7 goals so far , PLDs current pace for the season. . Iafallo as a good 4th liner er). We lucked out there, and happy for kings to move on from him since that’s my other team
We will have to see how he does long term, if this showing for the Caps remains consistent over a season. I recall how he looked like a beast in Jets 1st playoff game against Vegas and then disappeared for the rest of the series. If he has matured and gotten past that to give a consistent effort then the Caps will have done OK.Cool, its nice you like Vilardi and Iafallo. And its cool that Kings got rid off a contract they were disgusted about. Both your teams are western conference so dont mind either of them having a great season!
And this next one is not directed to you, just generally;
While Jets are dominating the world right now. Kings are sitting at the top of their division. Caps have suprised everyone with a nice start.
Cant we all just glamour the win-win-win situation of all time for the brief moment. If (and when) you all are right it wont last for long and we Caps-fans will have grumpy times looking Kings and Jets go for a play-offs run while we are missing out all the fun both ways (playoffs and Hagens). Cant we have nice things just for a little time?
Get back to laughing at us when we burn and crash with the tank commander PLD. Right now it just seems a bit petty to keep ranting for a guy who is still doing quite well with his new team. Anyone who watched Kuznetsov last couple years for their teams 2C should understand our excitement.
well at least you're honestIma be honest. I hope he fails.
Pure shutdown centers don't get paid 8.5m He's going to have to score to make the contract viable long term.PLD has been good so far. Hes not needed to score goals.
He is the center for one of the top 2nd lines in the league and likes to play shut down minutes against other teams top lines.
You’re joking but in the middle of last season we had a team affiliated media outlet unironically write a whole article about how PLD was actually good because his “rebounds generated per 60” were higher than Auston Matthews."He only had six goals, but man, let's just be happy he had a lot of 'expected goals'"
- no fan or coach ever
I guess they do? See his contract and draft spot.Pure shutdown centers don't get paid 8.5m He's going to have to score to make the contract viable long term.
Not sure what either of those things have to do with what I said. If he scores 30-40 points and plays tough minutes thats not worth 8.5m long term.I guess they do? See his contract and draft spot.
If we make the playoffs and Ovie gets the record who is to say thats not worth 8.5? And we didnt make that contract. Rob Blake did, And he took a huge salary dump to get rid of it. And its paying off in spadesNot sure what either of those things have to do with what I said. If he scores 30-40 points and plays tough minutes thats not worth 8.5m long term.
You were saying he doesn't need to score goals. In this salary cap world if you're making 8.5m until 2031 you're going to have to score goals too.If we make the playoffs and Ovie gets the record who is to say thats not worth 8.5?
