Just watched the video. Does that look like a guy who doesn't like his chances of landing the Coyotes? Hell no. That's a guy who can barely contain his glee.

I watched the video too. He seemed pretty jovial. Just wish I knew what he said.

From what I could tell, he first laughed and said he hadn't been paying attention to the Coyotes' playoff aspirations. Then he said they'd have to wait and see how the series (I guess playoff series?) play out. And then he said the best strategy so far has been to not comment.

No guarantee that I correctly understood any of that though!

Maybe he's just a happy fun loving guy? Or maybe he's happy for another reason? :dunno:

Something has to happen soon. The Jets were barely able to get ready when they got Atlanta at roughly the same calendar date.

Right on the money!

But what needs no translation is the mumblings and him having a hard time hiding his smile. He is caught off guard obviously at first. But then he gets the old record out (no comments).

Yeah, I think the comments are irrelevant... the facial expression says it all!

Can anyone here who speaks French give us a little insight on what he said?

The best translation I can give is "ehhhhhhhh ehhhhhhhhhhh ehhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh ohhhhhhhhhhhh eh ehhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh can't tell"

No seriously the reporter asked him if he knew the 'yotes are officially eliminated, to which he answered "oh really?". Which was followed by "what are the plans now?" and PKP said "we have....no umm I guess we'll see how it turns out during the playoffs, I know it isn't fun to hear for the fans and the media but we have to remain quiet."

Do you think that means he's suggesting no announcement will be made until after the playoffs? Or was he just trying to be as non-commital as possible?

I'm actually starting to believe that this whole Phoenix saga will be coming to an end in less than two months. I can't wait!

If there's one thing certain about this saga....it's that no one knows when this will truly end. :naughty:

I do hope there is a resolution soon enough, just so that the franchise can finally plan for the future appropriately and not worry about where they will be playing next year.

Something is coming to ahead in the coming weeks, not months

Even if the team in parked for 13/14, then at least it's a decision....though a weak one.

Remember you can't spell indecision without the word 'decision' :D

Here's what I heard :

Question : Have you read this morning's newspaper ? The Coyotes have been eliminated.

Answer : Oh yeah ? No haven't looked at the details just yet. Listen, we will see what will happen during the playoffs. I know it's not easy not the best answer for fans and journalists but we've always maintained the best strategy is to not comment on those affairs.

While the question seemed to be a surprise it's obvious his answer was there ready for that eventuality. It was what we call, the old cassette being played. Tho his face spoke a completely different story.

Could be years....
It has already been 4 years...what could a 5th one really change...Right ?

FWIW Pierre LeBrun commented on the Coyotes saga briefly yesterday on the ESPN hockey podcast. Said from what he's hearing theres a better chance that the team will be playing in Phoenix next year rather than relocation. Said there's 4 groups looking (mentioned Pastor & LeBlanc) but ofcourse didn't really get into any details about why we should expect them to be able to close. I assume he toucehd base with league sources and that's the line they're currently using.

Basically good news for Quebec/Seattle. We all know that when NHL gets their sources saying the team X stays in place, the complete opposite happens only few days later.
