There was seriously a team called the Macon Whoopee? That's hilarious. That would never happen nowadays, what with how sensitive everyone is and all!

Yep. Indeed there was. And highly entertaining I can assure you. I love Georgia, the South.... you Canucksters have no idea how much we share in common with our Southern & Southwestern compadres'. Might just as well be in London, Guelph, KW or Austin, Glendale, Memphis, Atlanta or New Orleans. Its really quite incredible the similarities in tastes, interests, just general outlook & senses of humour, self deprecation, just generally tastes & interests. Almost identical, and Im full on in-your-face even when semi comatose, borderline narcoleptic, so figure it out. Brothers from another mother. Some empathy, understanding, sympathy - its not a stretch for a Canadian. Were good guys, good boys, take no pleasure in the folly of others. Indeed, have the backs of the downtrodden, shafted & abused.

What instrument do you play, Killion?

Gunslinger. Guitarist.

BTW, the Nordiques already had their farm club there (WHA era). ;)
Yeah, when the Maineiacs left Lewiston.... We went through the building and came across an old program from the Maine Nordiques. There was speculation that the Pirates were going to wear a throwback of the Nords jersey in Lewiston, but that was quickly rebuffed for obvious reasons.

Nobody knows it. That was my point. Where do you put a franchise that has no place to land? the NHL only knows but it doesn't seem to want to move them for some reason we are not aware of.

While it seems correct..... I have to point out that Phoenix was also not ready for an NHL franchise when the original Jets needed a place to land.

Between QC and Seattle..... QC would be more ready to take on a relocated franchise at the moment.

2010: Collected by the NHL.

2011: Still sitting in escrow (makes ya wonder why don't it?)

2012: Doesn't exist.

2013: Nobody knows what Glendale is willing to pay yet because they haven't discussed it.

Well 2012 there was 320m$ on the table. It's just that nobody took it. If you remember the saga, there's been a vote for a referendum, a referendum, a tax, another vote, but in the end the money was there. Not that GWI wasn't watching mind you, but it was there.

2013, with the numbers of 6m$ to manage the arena flying around, I doubt anyone, even the NHL, is gonna stick around any longer. But this is Glendale, weirder things happened, so we won't know for sure until Mini-me makes a press conference.

Short video interview with PKP today where he was asked to comment about the Coyotes being eliminated...

....it seemed pretty revealing. He could hardly hide his excitement and was clearly caught off guard. Danced around the question clumsily, showing a ton of enthusiasm.

A far cry from what we've seen before coming from him...

Hey, Chilliwack was freaking awesome! I still fire up "My girl (gone gone gone)" on my ipod from time to time.

Not a natural born "BC boy" so forget that. Sorry to say, not Chilliwack, not Styx, none a yer musically challenged Hillbillys from over the Rockies. But keep guessing, most amusing. :)

Thanks for the link. He sounds like a kid at Christmas eve. As the other reporter mentioned news may start moving once the season is done.

I'm not letting my feelings get in the way here. Nothing indicates that any city is ready to take on a team. Sure, they're preparing and all but not quite there.

Seattle of course isn't ready. The Key Arena is so bad for hockey even the Thunderbirds left. As for QC they have a temp arena which correct me if I am wrong Bill Daly already said is ok for temporary purposes. A fan base ready to go. A broadcast outlet ready to go. Also, how long will it take them to sell season tickets? 5 hours? Marketing plan? "hey we have an NHL team again. Tickets go on sale at noon on Saturday"

Well, if the day after the Coyotes are eliminated from the playoffs there is an announcement about the Coyotes moving, then it is what most of us have suspected all along.... A SHAM.

The new potentials, interest at an all time high, buyers crawling over each other, lots of talk in private... Just another Bettman SHAM.

ESPN already has them eliminated...

they must have changed that during the day. I checked at 3 and it still didn't have that. I wonder what took so long. Even though Detroit hasn't gone final yet

Probably took ESPN half the day to figure out all of the head to head scenarios and tie breaks....not like they treat the NHL as front page news anyways.

With the wings about to win and hopefully SJ beats the Yotes tonight, no one has to explain all the tie breakers anymore.

With a Detroit win everyone will now realize that Phoenix is eliminated because they have 52 points and the tie breaker.
