When did the rule on slashing change where you can break someone’s stick you whack them so hard it literally snaps into two pieces? As long as you don’t hit their hands it is legal? I missed a rule amendment or clarification I think. There have been at least 3 or 4 snapped sticks from what used to be called slashing…

It hasn't changed. It's just another discretion call at this point. And the NHL is cool with that.
