Obviously hour players aren't as good as we thought. I hope this wakes this organization up. They've made there bed with Harper and Turner and the pitching. if this team doesn't win it's on them. I'm not very impressed with Dombrowski, but then again I'm not sure if he has much to leverage here. Teams know they hold all the cards with the Phillies and it's showing.

It just doesn’t seem like there’s a market for Bohm and he’s still worth more to the Phillies than he does anyone else. Who is out there trying to track down a corner infielder who is simply adequate at fielding and doesn’t hit for power?

Both of them are placed on higher pedastals than their results actually deserve. Totally checks out.

Hell at least Middleton won something once upon a time

I know we're not arguing that winning the most random playoffs with huge payrolls and losing in the least random playoffs to prime Steph Curry makes Dombrowski better.

So Ranger Suarez has signed with Scott Boras to be his agent as Ranger heads into his final season before FA.

Do we have a Bo Callahan situation on our hands?

:sarcasm:

Can we get Lars Nootbaar over to the Phillies as the first step in attracting Japanese players? lol

I was wondering what the connection was. They both went to USC, but Stubbs left a year before Nootbaar... but Stubbs younger brother also went to USC and was teammates with Nootbaar. Maybe they work-out in the offseason or something.

DD is going to run it back this season with a few tweaks, which is the right thing to do

1) they have a group of top prospects who are from 0.5-3 years away (Painter, Crawford, MIller, Tait, Caba), given the age and salary of this team, last thing you want to do is strip the farm system to add expensive over 30 players

2) They have no money, at this point they're at the 100% tax threshold, so a $20M FA really costs $40M.

3) A lot of FAs are marginal improvements, you don't pay a FA to replace Rojas with a meh CF and buy an additional WAR for $20-30M.

4) Most trade proposals are "wack a mole," trade Bohm and who plays 3B? Sosa and LH (Clemons?). And so on. When the kids are ready, you can trade the guy blocking them for anything of value.

The Phillies won 95 games with Walker/Phillips as their 5th starter. This season they'll have Painter. This team ain't broken. They could use another RP, and a stronger bench.

The best strategy is minor tweaks, see how the first half rolls, then at the AS break:
1) the old players got old, sell
2) they need "X" or "Y", trade
3) some kids force their way into the lineup, Crawford platooning with Rojas, Kemp as supersub, Johnson as 6th starter/RP. Stand pat.
