Soto won't necessarily put the Mets over the top. But he'll squeeze their budget.

In the end, it always comes down to pitching.
If Painter is the real thing, we're fine (he has Wheeler/Schilling potential).

The reason the Dodgers are WS champions is not just spending money, they also have a first rate farm system. It's what has kept the Braves competitive and put the Astros over the top.

Remember, Angels had Trout and Ohtani. But couldn't build a solid team around them before Trout broke down.

Sorry, this should be illegal. I have no problem with not wanting to be too active within the community, it's every person's right to be as involved or as disengaged as they wish to be, but the ownership groups of large corporations should be a matter of public record.

The most plausible charitable reason is not wanting people to know you've got the kind of money it takes to buy into a professional sports team, and if you're truly a private enough individual, you can get away with that level of flying under the radar on a broad scale.

There are, of course, less charitable reasons, like being someone who, if your name was attached to the team, would cause a meaningful enough portion of the customer base to seek alternatives.
