Blake Snell has a $30m player option for next season. So either you get a guy who had a really horrible start, but seems to have righted it since coming back off the injured list in early July ( 4 starts. 0R allowed in 3, and 2R allowed in one. including a 15K game last night.) and he picks up the option for $30m. Or he opts out (if he continues to have a strong second half)
In which case where are the Cubs going in 2024 to get a guy who may not even be there in 2025?
