Blake Snell has a $30m player option for next season. So either you get a guy who had a really horrible start, but seems to have righted it since coming back off the injured list in early July ( 4 starts. 0R allowed in 3, and 2R allowed in one. including a 15K game last night.) and he picks up the option for $30m. Or he opts out (if he continues to have a strong second half)

In which case where are the Cubs going in 2024 to get a guy who may not even be there in 2025?

Im not going to panic but there should be concern. I dont think a team can win a World Series with Turner at shortstop though, that is one thing working against them. He just cant field well enough and it's not like they dont have solutions to this issue internally. This should be his last season there.
