Braves are a fairly bland group of personalities and their fanbase isn't nearly as cool as ours, but winning is still fun and they do a lot of it.
Those Boston Red Stockings, Boston Red Caps, Boston Beaneaters, Boston Doves, Boston Rustlers, Boston Braves, Boston Bees, Milwaukee Braves, Atlanta-Fulton County Braves, Atlanta-Cobb County Braves can go eff themselves.

I'm pretty sure I had seen a stat that indicated when he was called up he had the highest defensive runs saved of any outfielder in the minor leagues at that point. Not just Eastern league, or AA. the entire full-season minor leagues from AAA all to Low-A.

He has 5 defensive runs saved in just 144 innings. (16 games)

To put in perspective looking at all MLB CFers

#1) Kevin Kiermaier: 13 DRS (714.1 inn)
#2) Daulton Vasho: 12 DRS (321.1 inn)
#3) Kyle Isbel: 9 DRS (470.1 inn)
#4) Brenton Doyle: 7 DRS (638.0 inn)
#5) Alek Thomas: 7 DRS (582.0 inn)
#6) Harrison Bader: 6 DRS (533.0 inn)
#7) Johan Rojas: 5 DRS (144.0 inn)
#8) Jake Myers: 5 DRS (672.1 inn)
#9) Luis Robert: 5 DRS (915.0 inn)

So he's in 7th despite having considerably fewer time than almost anyone else in front of him to accrue DRS. 144 innings = 16 games.

He's recording about 0.35 DRS per inning. Dalton Vasho who is at #2 with 12 DRS has acrrued about 0.37 per inning and the only CFer with a higher pace than Rojas.

Although UZR seems to favor Rojas as he's at 26.0 UZR/150 which is #1 among all CFers with at least 100 innings.

UZR/150
#1) Johan Rojas 26.0
#2) Daulton Vasho 21.3
#3) Brenton Doyle 20.2

so UZR/150 projects if he played 150 games*9 innings in CF he would save 26 runs over the course of a season.
That's actually f***ing crazy, wow

Seems like everyone is now willing to go on the record and say San Diego is having huge locker room problems.

Do we think the fanbase at large would rather throw the kitchen sink at Trout or Soto? I probably don’t have to say which direction I’d go.

I've been thinking Trout. He has to be relatively affordable given the injury history and money owed, right?

I’m 100% in on trying to sign Soto, and I hate old people tropes, but I’d be lying if I said I wasn’t a little put-off by his effort in the field occasionally.

Most notably in the NLCS last year.

I don't see either Trout or Soto ending up in Philly. Trout because of his age and contract, Soto because I think he'd choose somewhere else.

How many teams would still be in on Ohtani? Scherzer and Verlander leaked that the Mets aren't spending until after next season. I guess Mr. Insider Trading could've lied. My assumption is that the Yankees and Padres won't be active. Cashman and Preller both seem to be on the hot seat.

It's possible he did lie to Max, but even with Ohtani they still need to sign more pitchers. I think he will end up a Dodger, maybe Mariners decide to spend though.

Tears of joy from the new guys last night followed by tears of pain from Nola tonight

I have a feeling it will be San Francisco or the Dodgers. Don't think he comes out East.

Would LOVE for it to be the Mariners.

Probably KC, Cincinnati, or Detroit

Why would Ohtani, after wasting away on the Angels, sign with KC or Detroit?

Cincy is a good call though. Mariners could go for it to. I think it'll be a big market team that ends up spending through the roof though
