After the Eagles' second half last February, the Phillies will probably wimper out tonight and continue this era of pain
The Eagles while up 10 lost to an all time great tandem. Plus they had the known anchor in Gannon. So while a terrible loss no shame in losing to those two. This DBacks team I think is less likely to miss the playoffs than make it next season as of now. Would be a complete bottle job to lose it.

Absolutely. It'll be a lot of fun

They were bigger favorite yesterday as of right now though. Need to hit. Think the pitching won't be the issue. Nola wasn't good but they scored 1 run yesterday.
Nola was shit and we still had more than enough chances to get back into it. That felt like one of those games where everything just went wrong at the wrong time. Nola had one bad inning and the entire hitting strategy went out the door for us. Everyone seemed to be swinging for the fences on every pitch, even Rojas.

Hopefully a night of sleeping on it will mentally reset everyone and we have a different approach today.

I think Pfaadt is better than his season stats would suggest, on the other hand, I also think he had the game of his short career and is unlikely to repeat that performance, while Ranger has a track record of post-season success.

Yep..over 140 years. Insane really.
You forget how long this fanchise was historically unsuccessful. It sounds nuts, but not as much when you think that before 1976, they only played in 2 world series. The NLCS didn't become 7 games until 1985. So this is only the 14th opportunity for them to play a 7 game series. Still, you would think one of the 13 would have gone 7.

If Pfaadt throws like he did last week they are in trouble. The 4S/Sinker combo from the same tunnel really screwed with the hitters. Have to hope the advantage swings to the Phillies seeing him twice in 5 days, in a more familiar setting, with crowd/ump factors. Arizona had to throw their big guns last night. They will be available tonight, but a chance they are less effective and hopefully seeing them multiple times favors the Phillies hitters. Ginkel and Sewald have been lights out. Have to cash in before the 8th. Merrill Kelly has held the Phillies in check. Hopefully just a case of being able to throw 5 pitches and command decently well was the reason the ABs looked so bad second and third time through the order.

Sticks look a little rough at the moment but they have a lineup that can explode if everything lines up. Need at least one of the slumping hitters to snap out of the funk. Phils didn't use any of their high leverage relievers so they will be well rested and hopefully have their best command tonight. Hopefully Ranger regression doesn't hit tonight.

Gonna be a real kick to the nads losing 4 of 5, the final 2 at home, to the diamondbacks knowing the Rangers are the ALCS winners. Yeesh. But it fits the squad, their just one big kick to the nads, whether they blow leads or their bats go silent. Always something!
This is the DP we need tonight bb.

Some really cool insight into how damn hard it is to hit a baseball lol
But I thought 100 down the middle gets crushed all the time?

(Btw I miss that Casty already).

One of the right handed bats is going to have to have a big night. I suspect either Trea or JT is most likely. Nick is back to himself again and I expect nothing from Bohm.

I'd like to see them move Bohm down the lineup and also get Cave some at bats for Rojas if you can. Gotta find a way to get some hits. If they aren't going to pitch to Schwarber or Harper, you gotta figure out ways to get something out of that top of the lineup.

1st and 2nd innings are going to be really big tonight.

I was thinking depending how the game is going Rojas should be taken out at some point. Hopefully it doesn’t come to that and the offense puts up enough where Rojas’ defense is more important

I dont think Jake Cave is the answer but the fact that he is the option is an organizational failure. Totally agree about the first few innings. 0s are necessary by Ranger and any runs scored will just fuel the crowd.
