Definitely is the Astros.

Barves in the NL and Trashtros in the AL. I don't recall Trashtros fans throwing beers on the field because a call in Game 1 of a series didn't go their way. Then you have the racist tomahawk bullshit. f*** the Barves. I've hated them a lot longer than the Trashtros. f*** Chipper Jones. f*** John Smoltz. f*** that dork Jeff Franceour right in his ear.

Their crowd is mostly lifeless. It's their only queue to make some noise. Half of them don't do it anymore and the half that do couldn't be more half-hearted about it. It's f***ing trash.

The chop is infuriating. Can't believe they do that in 2023. I'd be so embarassed if I was a fan of them
Lets be honest, if they weren't embedded in the deep south and favorited by the hotbed of US white nationalist racism, they'd have been forced to change their logo by now. But because they exist in a city where the state flag is literally the Confederate States of America national flag (which they deliberately snuck in when they were forced to change it from the rebel flag), should we really be surprised that they embrace the racism?

Ohtani was drafted in 2012(at 18). Posted in 2017. (at 23)

But generally if a guy in Japan turns into a legit star and is posted to MLB, I think a team will wait until they are 25 years old because that way there's no limit to what an MLB team can offer and the "posting fee" is a percentage of the MLB contract signed.

But that 25 year old in Japan signing an MLB contract is doing something no other 25 year old who played college ball will be able to do. Sign with any team as a UFA for many millions.

The mlb draft has a signing bonus limit and then after that you gotta reach MLB service time to become a FA. Look at someone like say Pete Alonso. He was drafted at 22. He'll be a FA after next season at age 30.

So technically a Japanese player in Japan can get to an MLB UFA contract years faster than a drafted college player in the US.

The NIL for foreign players is also quite different... because of the visa they're on they can't earn money in the US off NIL deals. They can earn money outside the US though.
