If there is a type of loss I’m more optimistic about its this kind. There pretty much needed to be a perfect clusterf*** of toe shooting for the Braves to win. It’s a best of 3 with home field advantage now. No reason for alarm. We’ve shown the Braves can bleed. Atl needed every inch of f***ups the Phillies gave them: errors, base running, leaving runners on base, poor managerial decisions. If one of those aspects is better, they are 2-0. It’s tough loss but the Phillies can still absolutely win the series

Each team lost the game that they should’ve won on paper going into the series but that’s not what happened when the games started.

The Phillies should have won the first game with how they executed. They also should have won the game today. They didn’t and that absolutely shouldn’t be glossed over. Just like it shouldn’t have been glossed over in the regular season.

They blew their chance to put a stranglehold on this series. Now it’s a coin flip. That’s bad.

At it’s core, yes they did what they had to do by splitting in Atlanta but it was right in front of them and they shit down their leg.
For the millionth time their bullpen sucks. We all know this. Theyre gonna blow games...esp how topper uses them. He was wreckless with them last year too and it finally caught up to them vs the Astros.

Game 1 was a well disciplined win...but it was also incredibly wreckless to pull Ranger like ge did. He literally had Straum as the 8th inning guy (nothing against strahm but if hes your set up guy vs the braves thats not ideal). They stole that game. If you keep trying to beat this Braves team by getting a few runs and praying the pen holds them...youre gonna get burned like they did tonight. The fact they did it once is amazing.

This team needs to win by bashing the ball. They need that big hit like Stotts vs the Marlins.

Again...you were the guys who laughed at any suggestion that the Philes could beat the braves...idk why youre so devestated theyre not up 2-0...id thibk youd be shocked the won 1.

Same way after game 2 in 2011! it's coming. You'll see.
Lol…we errored, and poor decisioned our way to a loss that ATL BARELY took advantage of and they acted like they won the World Series afterwards! Did you see them dancing around and partying? That team gets way too high and way too low. We got this.

Unfortunately this team seems to make alot of errors and defensive miscues especially in crucial situations. That's why the double play the other night was amazing. 10th most errors and 5th worst in defensive runs saved (Granted a bit of that on Schwarber). I wish I had your confidence.

That sucked. Perfectly winnable game, and if they had, I wouldn't have been surprised if they swept. Series is still winnable, but that loss could bite them just like all the stranded runners did tonight.

I'm still optimistic, but I definitely don't want to go back to Atlanta. Oh well, guess it's up to us fans now.

Didn’t happen.

The underrating of the Braves is what was laughed at and mocked.

We’re devastated because the Braves are an extremely good team and the Phillies didn’t stomp on their throats. You know, that thing that they didn’t do during the regular season.

It will say a lot how the Phillies play next game. If they are a championship caliber team they put this game behind them or use it as motivation. No point in getting dejected or emotional. They’ve shown that they can hang with the juggernaut if not better. A little adversity isn’t the worst thing if it’s channeled and dealt with correctly, same as in life. I know pessimism reigns on this board and in Philadelphia sports but I think there is a very decent chance the winner of this series becomes the champs, and this will be the biggest dog fight of any matchup. A statement game would be very welcome

It seems with Nola we are either getting a 4IP 4-5ER, or 6-7IP 0-2ER. Big game for Nola and it would be great to see him make a statement, or the bats explode. Even if they win or lose this series isn’t over. Both these teams are capable of winning 2 in a row

I would actually kick you out of my house if you were watching a game with me. The negadelphia shit gets me so bad.
Would you believe me if I told you I'm actually very calm and supportive/hopeful when I watch games? Course you wouldn't but I'm not lying

Ranger was the right move, as opposed to Wheeler tonight

Everyone has been saying this series is the WS. Well now game 3 is game 7. I've said it a few times but they have a rookie throwing for them in a playoff game in CBP, while we have a veteran who has been excellent in the playoffs with the exception of a few innings in the WS last year. This is prime. Game 3 is decisive

Im sure game 4 of the 1993 world series was worse but to me this loss is just as bad as any of the ones from 2007-2011.

Time for Nola to step up. The ways things look now, if they win the rest of their home games they will at the very least make it back to the World Series. Much easier said than done.

Those Cardinals and Giants series were some of the worst Philadelphia sports experiences I’ve had. Completely frustrating.

If he just stays at 2nd and the ball isn't caught he probably scores easily. Harris missed like a few cutoffs.
Doubtful. RF would be there to grab the bounce off the wall. I'm still not wishing him a good morning though. My night was absolute shit from hour 1 to hour 10.5, and it's pretty clear that this team introduced that juju when I walked in. Once again good morning to everyone except the Phillies.
