L.A. was awful when he first started out, even though Phillies fans wanted him to be good. He grew into it. Don't get me started on how bad Mike Quick was. He was replacing Stan Walters, who was stellar.

I don't mind Kruk at all, personally. He's goofy enough to be funny, but not too goofy to be stupid/annoying. Obviously tastes differ
I like Kruk too, I just like LA more.

It seems like the wind may be playing a factor, he caught the final out weirdly. It wouldnt have been a triple most likely though. Regardless it was a terrible pitch.
Id feel a lot better if Wheeler was our number 2 and we had a legit ace. Offense is really going to have to carry the team in October and get to the top pitchers they face.

Im the number one member of the Cole Hamels fan club, but Wheeler this year was better than Cole in 2008. Granted that bullpen is better than the how they are pitching now. I think Wheeler leads fWar. He was let down by his defense today. Im more concerned about the bullpen than the starters. Many games in the playoffs are won in middle relief.

I’d love to know what an ace looks like if it’s not Wheeler. He’s 4th in baseball in FIP since 2020 and 1st in WAR. His peripherals are fine this year. There’s really no argument he’s not a top 5-10 pitcher.
