I don't think anyone said that we couldn't win without Fayne, just that it's ridiculous that he - or Larsson, has to be benched because of the D merry-go-round when Fayne was arguably our best d-man last year. This D actually seems to work well together though and Harrold's been too good to take out of the lineup.
If I were Fayne though, I'd say you guys (the organization) can do what it wants this year, but if I'm not in your plans next year then trade me. On a two-year deal it'd be bad if the guy is a periodic healthy scratch in his walk year.
I'm glad Moose has turned it around for the moment, but let's be honest, the guy was walking a tightrope for about a week. Last Tuesday was bad enough, another bad one would have sent the crowd into pure lynch mode. Not to mention I wouldn't have wanted him playing seven games in eleven days even when it was ideal. He literally hadn't started ten straight games since his rookie year (2000) and now he's doing it in a compressed season.
