Let me put it it this way!!! To a coach, any goal scored practically is not the fault of the goalie. Coaches will analyze plays that lead to quality scoring chances, and then it's a matter of whether the goalie bails the team out or not. So, goalies will be jugded for the most part on their ability to bail the team out, and in rare circumstances, whether the coach thinks they should have easily made the save. Quick has bailed out so many people this year so far that it's actuually quite ridiculous!! If it drops off just a notch. It appears Kings have trouble winning! When Quick returns to earth but still plays rather well, you'd think the rest of the team could pick him up every now and then!! However, that has not been the case so far this year.

There's a theory that playing deep into June three straight years and with the very physical style they play that it is catching up to them, and I can buy into part of that. Over 300 games in that span is brutal. But the danger is that they are hovering above the 8th spot in the conference which is much stronger this year and they can't afford to slip past that and fight an uphill battle the rest of the way.
It appears to be that the are mentally fatigued and that is just as hard to overcome as physical fatigue.
They are very lucky to have Jones and Quick saving their bacon on more games than they should have thru 30. What if one of them gets hurt? You don't have a cushion of points to fall back on like last year when they took that post Christmas nose dive.

I just like the fact that I am reading a post finally on this site that acknowledges that making the playoffs is no easy task!!! Just ask all the teams that have slightly been a little dysfunctional in the last few years. It doesn't take much!!

The Kings will not miss the playoffs, no way. Even if they fall off the pace they will flip a switch, win 8 of 10 to get some breathing room then go back on no effort cruise control until they need to flip a switch, that is the identity of this team.

And please, no BS about the games over the years. After 2012 the Kings didn't play a game for 6+ months because of the lockout. Plenty of time to re-charge, and the Kings have played a similar amount of games as Chicago the past two seasons and they look fine.

Yes, the amount of games the past 3 years is a lame excuse.

I am not too worried. Kings shouldnt lose to the Flyers but they didnt play that bad. The bounces werent there and Philly played a good tight game. No odd man rushes this game like vs the Wild.

Stoll's penalty in the final minutes when you are on the PP, really pissed me off. I would like to thank him for all contributions but they should let him go, unless he is willing to sign for real cheap.

Thanks for the update.

Centers lined up as they should be. 70s line reunited.

And Richards, how can he complain now, with two-Malkin-like forwards to work with?! ;)

Some of the centers are lined up as they should be, not all. Stoll took 3 dumb penalties that potentially cost the Kings and Richards gets demoted and gets gifted with Nolan and King. Maybe MR will get lucky and get the flu and won't be able to play. I was really surprised that Brown didn't get moved up to play on the first line. I don't expect much to change or the malaise to be lifted. The Carter line was relunited a few games back and did nothing. Pearson is playing well, maybe he can pump some life back into TT and JC.

Well, let's see how long Gaborik can stay in the lineup, or if he even gets back into the lineup.

not that it really matters i guess but why do we not ever have a pgt anymore ? just curious is all

In all honesty anyone can feel free to start one after the game is over--I just haven't been available at the end of games to do so, and the last few have actually killed discussion instead of furthered it. No real 'official' reason

It doesn't matter who is on the 3rd or 4th line center spot...both guys have been offensive blackholes for now a calendar year (well Stoll for much longer). Doesn't matter who they are playing with.

Thanks for a answer Mr Doty ;) I am sorta superstitious ( not rashional i know) however this change to the routine is not sitting well with me is why i asked. Yes i know anyone can start one however only a mod can close the other one. I like rereading the game thread. Seeing actual reaction to things live. However if we lose i really want to stay out of the after math of a loss.
