Trading down and punting QB for a year makes a lot more sense to me personally too, but I’m not Tepper. I’d move down and stockpile to try to maneuver for QB2 next year. I’m assuming Williams is the wire to wire 1OA, which means that pick won’t be for trade.

I am not 100% sure either but I think tankathon is fairly reliable and they are saying 9th overall. (SOS is the decider I believe).
And I thought you guys don't owe any picks any longer for Sammy D? Thought that was a 2nd and 4th in 2022?

Panthers.com tells me that you guys have all your picks for the next 2 years + an extra 2nd, 3rd and 4th this year and an extra 5th next year.

If both of these things are true (that you guys hold #9 and have extra picks in the next two years), I certainly wouldn't say that you don't have the draft capital necessary to jump up. Especially considering that the rest of your roster is arguably not that bad.
