I mean people are talking about certified bust Geno Smith (who I always had a bit of a soft spot for but still) potentially getting a 30m+ extension with the Seahawks...

Maybe people have just massively underestimated how favorable the situation was for Russ in Seattle. And he didn't look all that great in the end anymore there at the end.
I guess there was a reason why they were so willing to move on from their franchise QB.
I’m not so sure about him walking into a favorable situation. Going into Russ’s rookie year the Seahawks had just signed a FA quarterback to big money. The guy flat out sucked in preseason while playing with the starters and Russ was playing great with the backups.

They made the move and started Russ with the starters the last preseason game to see him go up against other teams #1 defense. Rest is history as he became the starter. Would be nice to have Lynch though aha.

Totally agree with his game falling off last season. Dude just is getting old. Hawks made a great move not holding on to the past.

These injuries are going to kill the Eagles. f***

the problem is that New Orleans is not a guaranteed win and people are acting like it is. The Minshew led banged up Eagles are not the Hurts/Lane/CJ led 13-1 Eagles.

I would really love for Hurts to get another week of healing, but it sounds like he's pushing to play. Dennis Allen and those scumbags will be coming after his shoulder all day.

the absolute worst case scenario is you have to play everyone in a must win Game 17 against the Giants. All bets are off in a January winner take all divisional game, and everyone loses the extra rest week.

I have no doubt they still win the division and secure the number one seed. You need to worry about an extended Lane absence. After Hurts (because of the nature of the position), he's probably the guy they could least afford to lose. I shudder to see what the weakside protection is going to look like after having Lane on basically an island all year.

I don't think playing everyone vs the Giants is a bad thing. If everyone sits out that would be 3 weeks without any action. Hurts could potentially not play a game for 6 weeks. Going in cold vs a team that hasn't had any time off would worry me. Opposite could be true as well.
