If hating on those two assholes makes me wrong than I don’t want to be right.

I've never bitten my tongue so hard about a topic in my life than this one.

God forbid you try to insist Taylor Swift has been overexposed...the mob is ready to jump down your throat.

Also this animation makes me laugh so I'm embedding it.

It’s not a question of being overexposed. It’s just impossible to understand why anyone would care too much about a handful of cutaways in a game. You don’t miss any of the game itself. It replaces other random fan shots. I have no interest in her whatsoever. But that’s very different than being angry she’s in some camera shots. Hell, it’s strongly preferable to cuts to Mahomes’ wife spraying champagne on people in the cold like a jerk.

And also, some people get weird about it. But not anyone here that I can see.

Personally I'd rather look at Taylor Swift than Andy Reid.

Yup. I'm just not feeling the "storyline" that's going to be talked about incessantly, but it's not because I don't like her (I like her more than I don't like her fwiw).

It's literally the same thing as the Brothers SB last year. It's cute, but this is the 9000th time I've heard about it in 2 weeks, and not just in sports circles. Just kind of over it. Not annoyed with her or them, not hateful, just over it.

Now these people on social media that are making this into some sort of war? Don't get me started. Please, stop caring about things like this so much. It must be exhausting

I think it's definitely about her being overexposed. If Taylor was sihlo'd to just a handful of cuts in an NFL game, I wouldn't care. The issue is that Taylor Swift is *everywhere* - and now she's amplified by the biggest pro league in the country. I spent all summer hearing about her Eras tour. Then the movie release of her Eras tour. Then led directly into the NFL season where I'm still hearing about what she does on a weekly basis while not seeking it out in any way.

Even when I don't watch Chiefs games, I hear about whether or not she attended. Even before the game, my co-workers talk about if she's *going* to attend. There are talks about whether her attendance somehow helps the team (or hurts them). We can agree this is not standard treatment of fan exposure (even celebrity fan exposure).

The way I see it, Taylor Swift is decidedly different than nearly every other person that attends NFL games. The Jason Kelce comparison last week was silly to me because it was a one-off, essentially (also he did something that was genuinely fun whereas Taylor claps like everyone else). Eminem going to Lions games? I honestly had no idea he even attended until a week ago. Taylor? I knew during pre-season. Speculation abound as to whether or not she'd be there for Travis. Just too much - and it's not even her fault. It's the fans & the NFL's faults for continually chatting about nothing just because it's Taylor.

::steps off soap box::

I feel like I need a safe space just to talk about T-Swift, hah. I never post this on Twitter & I can't talk about it in real life, so this is my moment to let my thoughts count.

This is how celebrities used to be. People generally aren't the same type of famous anymore, so I do understand that it's different. But it's not new.

Every Lakers game shows celebrities throughout the broadcast for example. It's not even close to unique.

Perfectly summarizes how I feel about it. Not hateful. But over it. Same how I felt about the Kelce Bowl. And I love Jason and the Kelces in general.

The overreactions of people on social media are more annoying than the media hype train itself.

Exactly. And with the exception of Philly teams (when I actually kind of appreciate a celeb supporting the club), I'm also never interested in these shots. But I don't get unreasonably angry about them.

Good luck watching a Knicks game without seeing Spike Lee in some weird outfit.

I think people are just over it at this point. It's just another thing forced down people's throats and they are over it. Good for Travis and Taylor, really, good to see two happy people, but I don't need to see it on my TV every time she's at the game, or her entering the stadium, it's just redundant and nauseating. People want to watch football, not get thrown into a media circus. Show her once or whatever, but they don't need to show her jumping up and down like a 5 year old after every time Travis makes a catch. It was cool to see at first, but now it's just overkill.

I was at the gym this morning and on the TV they were showing airlines that added flights from KC to Vegas and assigned the flight numbers like 2287 or 1989, who gives a shit.

But do you talk about if Spike Lee is going to show up to every Knicks game? I truly think there's an amplification factor going on here just because it's Taylor.

I know it's subtle, but that's the difference to me. T-Swift is so engrained in every aspect of pop culture at this point, I'm eating lunch and hearing my co-workers (and ESPN) asking about her attendance for a game on Sunday while it's a Tuesday.

And again, I don't blame her. It's just the culture of Taylor.

I am on board with storylines being ridiculous and overexposed. As was mentioned, I am completely over the Kelces. It's just that this one in particular seems to make some people extra angry. (I'm not saying that about you at all to be clear.)

Nor do I see the point in constantly bringing up something that annoys you. It's the last thing I want to talk about, so I don't bring it up.

Many humans get outraged over so many silly things. I normally watch games on mute. Not really missing out on much.

Now you’re talking my language.

I can’t wait to hear/watch Jason on NFL Broadcasts next year acting like Pat McAfee.

I fully understand that you're not one of the weirdos either. I want to be crystal clear on that.

In NYC offices, yes I have heard people wondering if Spike was going to be there for a game. I think it's just a function of the level of famous she is, which as I said I do understand people either being too young to remember being more common or forgetting because it's been a while.
