I'm confused. Wasn't the whole deal with the Chargers that their play calling was garbage and it was all check downs for Herbert, capping his talent? Or was Moore not calling plays?

That was Joe Lombardi prior to this past season. Moore was in Dallas for those seasons of madness.

Their offensive line this year was a mess and Mike Williams doing Mike Williams shit didn’t help.

Lurie will love him because he hasn’t exactly been a “run the damn ball” kinda guy.

Ok appreciate that

At least he runs motion and puts his QBs under center periodically

The former is going to happen. The latter makes no sense whatsoever to me. I know people are saying it. But Herbert and Stick were UC for less than 10% of Snaps last year and Hurts has no functional history of succeeding in a UC offense. Hell, the Chargers used less PA than the Eagles last year. Expecting UC and PA means the guy you’re paying a ridiculous amount of money has to learn to turn his back to the play in the NFL. Probably a bad idea.

Are we happy with Kellen Moore?

Both hires went about as well as they could have gone. Moore is a good match for the personnel the Eagles have. I think he’s very good for QBs specifically. Some of his problems in LA had to do with the OL play. In that way, the Eagles are a very good match for him just as Dallas was. Stoutland will help with the run game schematically too, which is a great thing for a guy whose Xs and Os strength is in the passing game.

One of his biggest strengths is play sequencing. In that way, he’s similar to Doug. He’s also run materially different offenses for Dak, Herbert, and Stick. He’s not hard locked into one approach.

Totally not gonna be watching middle of the field usage this upcoming season. (Dis is sarcasm, I'll be watching like a hawk)

Also should take Daniels in 2025 cause he's fun to watch but they need a Break Glass in case of emergency option.

Are you secretly running the Philly_Films account?

Sorry dad :(

Guess he needs to find other ways to throw the ball over the middle of the field more than once per quarter. As long as that's the end game then fine

Nah, you're exactly right. That's what needs to happen. Short of someone who's already a HC like Shanahan or McVay or LaFleuer, Moore is among the best bets to teach him.

It sounds like Moore's offenses are heavy with pre-snap motion, last year's Chargers team was top 5 in YAC, and the 2022 Dallas team was #1 in success against the blitz. All areas that the Eagles need massive improvements in.

Lamar took a pretty good shot to the head there. I bet that's the reason for the "administrative timeout".

Edit: heh, was apparently due to a drone. What's the point of spotters, anyway?
