My personal thoughts are it's a good hire. I didn't think he would be available so I was vying for Wink. But he has a great track record and it can only go up from last year right?

Well, that's DC sorted. Whether it's a good hire or not remains to be seen, but it would have happened last year if Gannon had confirmed he was leaving sooner, so I guess they finally get what they actually wanted?

The fact that the Dolphins defense got better as the season progresses is very reassuring that this is an excellent hire. Makes me wonder if this was always going to be the plan this year, and perhaps part of the reason Desai was demoted mid season, despite the record.

Eh, he was his teacher/boss, so recommending him is a natural move. Looks like Desai wasn't really ready to be DC (yet). Not really Fangio's fault. Was trying to get his guy a job/shot. I have no problem with that.

Yeah, I liked the Pederson-Schwartz-Howie dynamic, where Pederson and Schwartz were involved in the draft and free agency as well to get the right players for their side of the ball.
