I really don't want to hire a non-playcaller. But I have the same feeling about McDonald as I did with Ryans. Continually hiring OCs may eventually sink them, but they're too good to fall on their face. I get it.

The Ravens are just a managerial juggernaut. The gold standard. They know what they're trying to do and they know who to get to do the thing..and they get this stuff with mid-to-low picks at best. Nonstop, year after year. Injuries to key players? They don't care. They have someone else they know how to use.

Ozzie Newsome is in the HoF and still doesn't get enough credit for building an infrastructure to produce this year after year. The man built an institution in an era where that's impossible.
