I think we’re another year away from it being universally accepted thing that this roster isn’t anywhere as good as some are saying it was this year.

I mean the roster just came off a SB and was good enough to get to 10-1. Obviously it's flawed, but good players just suddenly stopped playing good.

I totally blame the coaches (80%) for that, BUT Howie needs to bounce back and fill out these glaring holes on the roster like LB, S, CB2, WR3. If he can't do that, then even I as the biggest Howie stan will start to really look hard at him.

Offseason tasks for me:
1) Fire the DC and OC.
2) Evaluate HC very seriously
3) Cut Maddox
4) Add another safety & 2 decent LBs

The rest is all questionable depending on money and how it shakes out with the draft...like letting Fletch go, if Kelce retires, cutting Bradberry, etc.

I'm not ready to crucify Howie over this collapse.

Trying to run it back is always a difficult task.

Super Bowl losing teams have historically had lots of bad follow-up seasons.

Howie was strapped for cash trying to hold the roster together while other teams were poaching our players.

Most people were happy to get back Bradberry instead of C.J. Gardner-Johnson. At the time it looked like a great move. In hindsight of course not.

No way could they match the contract for Hargrave. Everybody expected Jordan Davis to make the next step in his development to help offset that loss. Didn't work out that way.

Letting Sanders walk was obviously the right move. The Eagles even got an upgrade at RB.

I don't mind not paying T.J. Edwards the money the Bears offered him. The moves to replace him didn't work out at all though.

On top of that, a couple of players regressed and/or got another year older/slower.

So yeah, the roster was worse, but it was always going to be and Howie didn't necessarily have the tools to avoid it. And some of the moves were bad only in hindsight because players were worse than expected (Jordan Davis, Bradberry).

I think that losing both coordinators, bad coaching and scheme (or lack thereof) are bigger factors than the quality of the roster.

Howie gets some blame, no doubt, but most of it falls on the coaching staff IMO.

We are 100% going to sneak out a win vs the Bucs. The players will start giving a little effort again.

Then we’ll get demolished by SF , and the organization will scapegoat Patricia or something and hire Duce Staley to assist BJ. They’ll be “interested” in Reich but he’ll get more control elsewhere.

Those will be the big changes that we get.

And then the niners fans will be even more loudly insufferable. I pray they lose to the bucs so we don't have to deal with the fallout of a "rematch"

I'm very happy that people are being exposed to the Niners Nonsense again - they f***ing suck ass, and always have, and always will.

That's why I'm so annoyed that the Lions play against the Rams this week. Those 2 teams are like 2 silver bullets to save us from having to endure either a Niners Super Bowl berth, or even worse, a Cowboys Super Bowl berth. The Lions and Rams are supposed to eliminate those 2, not each other, ugh.

I genuinely can't believe the entire coaching staff is more or less intact after the season we just had.

How does BJ and Desai/Patricia possibly survive the last 5 weeks. We could have pulled a Rams.

You don't fire coordinators a week before a playoff game. That just doesn't happen.

But, unless the Eagles flip the switch/find their mojo and win at least 2 playoff games (doubtful), I don't expect either of those 3 back next year. And some other assistants as well.

They had 5 weeks to fire them 😂

I see Eagles/Cowboys battling for the division next season. Hurts seems to be injured. So I'm not ready to suggest Dak is better yet.

Washington still has to rebuild. Even if they get Maye/Williams. My worry with them is that Harris actually seems to be competent.
