Jalen and Jalen my friend. look how coy you can be you sly dog.Jurgensen only had a few years here as a starter. If you’re going to weigh the positional value that heavily, fair enough. I just don’t for discussions like this.
Cox is up there too. I just think Lane’s peak lasted significantly longer.
(I’m really not sure how you had two objections and neither was Bednarik, but that’s ok too. )

@JojoTheWhale brain game time.
Chuck Bednarik has an argument for best center of all time, and is a top 10 LB. If he were doing those things in the NFL today, what would he be paid?
Bless your heart for not knowing that he meant Hurts with the first one.
Oh dear God. He's playing every Snap on offense and let's say 80% of defense?
I genuinely thought he meant Randall but was worried it was too unrealistic. As usual, I was dumb and wrong.
Yeah, that's a fine ratio
Ok, I'm going to do away with dummy years and focus on the actual money. And since so much of the hierarchy of the salary charts is cyclical, I'm going to start with Transition Tag numbers. That's an average of the top 10. LBs were a bit over 17 last year.
Centers get lumped into OL and aren't paid as much as Tackles, so I can't use tags there. The 5th most expensive C is at 12.5ish.
The roster spot has value, but I think the extra injury risk hurts the contract more than the roster spot adds. That gives us a ceiling of ~29.5. High end pass rushers are now in the 30s, so that feels like we're in the right area given that both of Bednarik's spots are on the lower end of the positional value scale. The very top of the LB scale is now in the 20 range, so we have to be well clear of that.
I'm going to say something like 4/112.
I’ll keep my opinions on “best player the Eagles have drafted” to myself but I will point out that the Eagles drafted HOF OL Bob Brown. So Lane has something to prove to be considered even the best OL the Eagles have drafted.
The Eagles drafted Brown.I know I didn't say this, but I meant best Eagle drafted. Meaning career length matters. Brown only played here for 5 seasons. Lane's at 11. That's a big difference.
I would also point out that I said Entry Draft. That means no Reggie.
We got in the same neighborhood using different methods
This board cracks me up. @JojoTheWhale's equation:

=X
Beef's equation: C+LB=X
You guys are both very special in your own ways
