Now do Sam Howell.

3rd and long is automatic vs these guys no matter who it is

Sam Howell is leading the NFL in Passing Yardage. That's what he does. He also takes a shitton of Sacks and throws Picks that negate many of the positive plays.

They're 27th in Opposing 3rd Down conversion percentage this year. That's just behind the Jets in 26th and just ahead of the Bengals in 28th. TLDR; Don't just look at 3rd.

Oh I know, they suck on a lot of other downs against the pass too

Not being able to get off the field REPEATEDLY on 3rd & long is very close to the top of things that drive me absolutely insane when watching football...

Edit: Finally!!

Literally the same thing. I was so down on him that year then he almost beat that Georgia defense in the semifinal. I'm like what the actual heck maybe I'm too harsh on this guy and he's actually really good. I thought he'd be an average starter and not come out guns blazing.
The Georgia game was the outlier of all outliers. It wasn't supposed to signal that he'd be a better NFL QB than a college QB, but his body of work in the NFL has been much more impressive than his final college season.

How bout a nice drive here

They play a weird style. They lead the entire NFL in Explosive Plays given up. Essentially they string out series by design.
A great stat to be leading the way on when you have intercepted 5 passes all season. I don't have any answers. I never claim to have answers. But I do have huge, warranted concerns

I know but it was super convincing to see him put up that kind of performance against that Georgia defense. I still thought he was gonna be above average at the end of the day and understood the Texans taking him at 2. But I didn't see leading the league in passing right away.
