Other Sports: Philadelphia Eagles (NFL): THIS IS BRAZIL (Start Of 2024 Regular Season)

It's gotta be Moore, right?

Anyone that takes that job is a coo coo. Also, not to be that guy but... did they interview another minority candidate up to this point?

Didn't the Bears interview Shaw also?

Yes to the Bears, which I found out by reading your post. Unsurprising which two teams went down that road.

I don’t know the full Saints list, but I know Aaron Glenn was on it. What I know of their list is really just not inspiring. Moore feels like the most aggressively fine option possible, so it makes sense to me.

I’m going to get yelled at, but if Moore does get the gig, I’d interview Chip and Andy Kotelnicki. I am fully aware neither is happening. Especially Chip. I’m just talking about football and fit to their personnel.

As far as who I think gets it, I think they might have interest in Bill Lazor if he’s not seen as a Chip guy. Mark Brunell (DET QB coach)I could see. Same goes for Marcus Brady (Chargers) and Dave Ragone. How’s that last one for a CFB Name A Guy?

You're gonna get yelled at me with tons of adoration.

Possibly a lazy answer here but my money is on Josh McCown.

While we're throwing names out there, unless he's actually proper retired at this point, I'm not ruling out Frank Reich. Plenty of experience, connections with both the Eagles and Sirianni, had success here, not tied down by any other obligations at the moment, has called plays before, so Sirianni doesn't end up overextending himself taking that responsibility back on...

The only reason they interview Chip is so they get the satisfaction of him groveling at their feet, and then kicking him to the curb.

I’ve seen people throwing out contract comps that I just don’t think are realistic like JOK. Patrick Queen got 3/41 (14 Guaranteed) and the reporting at the time was that he took 4-5 less per year to go to Pittsburgh. Queen was a 2nd team All Pro with a bunch of subpar ones before that, so in that way he’s a good fit. But he is a couple of years younger. Baun just made the First Team All Pro. This is a completely different animal than most players. Those guys never hit the market.

I’m concerned that he ends up closer to Roquan Smith (5/100) than even Queen. There are ~half a dozen good Off Ball Linebackers in the whole league and a lot of cap space out there. Washington for example…
Question will be if teams think he's that good or a product of Fangio's scheme.
One year of great play after being a journeyman will cause some to pause.

I'm not sure good LB play in Fangio's scheme will be viewed as a negative when he's asked to cover far more ground than other off ball LB's.
