CHL to NCAA Commits

I would put Reynolds in a similar category. 30 points in 21 games.
Plus he was a Boston College commit before he went to the Sea Dogs.
I could see Darveau being attractive to someone in need of a goaltender , elite major junior career . Who knows..

I wonder if we see many U Sports “veterans” make the move to NCAA? I’m kind of hoping at this point they are so far along in their studies that it wouldn’t make sense. Maybe that’s wishful thinking in my part…

Josh Fleming, Acadie-Bathurst commits to Penn State.

If my math is correct, that is 1/3 (60) of the approx 180 OA's. There are a few 19 yr olds in the list, but who's counting?

I hope all of these Canadian transfers to U.S. colleges have been educated on the current paperwork required ...
Canadian citizens do not need visas to study or participate in an exchange program in the U.S. However, Canadian students do need to obtain an I-20 (or DS-2019) Certificate of Eligibility from the university, school or exchange program they plan to attend. Upon receipt of the I-20 (or DS-2019), the student will be registered with SEVIS, the student tracking system, will be assigned a SEVIS number, and will be required to pay a registration fee. When crossing the border to begin their study or exchange program in the United States, the student will need to provide the Officer at the port of entry:
  1. A Canadian passport;
  2. The original I-20 (or DS-2019) certificate;
  3. Proof that the SEVIS fee has been paid;
  4. Proof of ability to pay school fees and living expenses in the United States; and
  5. Proof of ties to Canada. ...

I was on another site and happened to look at the roster for the Tri-City Americans. They have no Americans on their roster, almost all Canadians and 1 dual CAN/US.

This article from November 2023 talks about how there are significantly fewer Americans going the CHL route now compared to in the past. I’m sure it hasn’t changed much in the last year or so…

On Morning Cuppa Hockey (great show if you get tired of Sportsnet constantly stroking the Leafs) , they were talking about guys in the NAHL losing scholarships to Canadian guys going Div.1 , I’d imagine 95% of these guys go Div.3 but I wonder if a few head north ?

I imagine the Americans in NAHL will go Div III and the Canadians in NAHL go USports.
