How many defenses are better than the Eagles right now?

i can say for certain...not the Bucs

So can someone who knows about football explain why this offense is dogshit for every first half and then so explosive in the second half? Is it just a matter of wearing the d down? Do they just spend the first half setting stuff up for later? Do concussions knock something back into place in Hurts' brain?

I mean, I'm not an expert, but I'm stoked about the experience of being a play caller that Kellen Moore brings to the table. We tried more inside runs in the first half, switched to some outside zone in the 2nd and lit up some big plays. Generally, I think he's done a good job at making adjustments.

This team does wear other teams down on the OL too.

What a difference between the first 4 weeks of the season and where we are now. The defense has been wonderful. If Hurts doesn’t make mistakes, this team might go far

Lb for lb they are probably more talented than the Lions but they don't have Campbell and they don;t have the Lions killer instinct.

I think they are too in love with the running game/deep threat right now.
When a team is obviously focused on stopping the inside zone run, you're allowed to run off tackle before the 4th period.
And the pass protection has to improve.
It's ok to throw ten yard passes (like the first half drive on Sunday) and not do anything sexy.

I know Siri has these analytics that say big plays win games, but big plays should come out of the flow of your offense, not be forced - that is, set up a defense by efficiently running your offense, and when they get frustrated and out of position, then go for the jugular.

Still, Elliott left 7 points on the field, they still got 26, all by the offense.
If that's a mediocre offensive performance, I'll take it.

The defense is looking better and better, but Daniels was not the real test, Commies run a very safe offense for him that plays into Fangio's hands. Still think Slay is vulnerable if he's on an island and while Dean/Baun are an improvement, they're not great cover guys.

On the other hand, Blankenship/DeJean/Mitchell are an awesome trio, and CJGJ can hold the fort.

People been dissing Davis, but he did a good job of anchoring against double teams tonight, leaving Carter one on one against the run, and Carter took out the trash.

come on, every super bowl winning QB has made mistakes, sometimes more than one. a QB doesnt need to be superman every game.

The team just needs to play well, and thats whats going on right now and im good with that.

Sacks are largely a QB stat. It's not the OL.

Even with all the injury issues, they've been very good both in pass pro and run blocking by every measurement I have -- tracking data, PFF grades, Pass Rush Win Rate, my eye test on the coaches' tape, etc.

Seems like the Eagles offense is ultimately limited due to play of the QB. With the weapons this team has, they should be practically unstoppable

Saquon is great, but I really cannot stress enough how much of the 2H was the OL play. Stoutland deserves a raise every week. Give the man a compounding salary.

I’m glad people are coming around on this defense. Trust Vic. It just takes some time to install everything and then get your players comfortable and communicating.

Agreed on Slay, but I don’t think that’s how this did or should play out tactically at all. Kliff pulled out some things that you almost never see in the NFL like 21 No Huddle and they were able to gash them early because of tackling. Fangio takes away #1s and makes you have something else. Theoretically, that’s a Washington strength because it’s a Kliff strength. But then you have Quinyon, who played out of his mind other than that weird cushion he gave to Ertz on 3rd Down. As the game went on, they were giving less schematic support because he took McLaurin to the woodshed. This was just a wonderful job of execution on 3rd Downs by this defense. And it’s not just Mitchell or any other name you want to bring up. The communication on the field was excellent last night. This is the first Eagles defense in recent memory that doesn’t make me recoil in horror when I see the offense lining up a Bunch.

Where I do think Daniels had his work cut out for him was sorting through coverages. Disguise is what Fangio does best. You can’t just look for the Weak Safety and go. Rookies generally don’t have the toolbox to find their way through the forest on time.
