Miami offered him their DC position. He held them at bay for a while waiting to see if Gannon was going to get a head coaching job that would leave our DC position open. Miami presumably told Fangio they needed a decision or were moving on. Gannon lied to the Eagles about his conversations with the Cardinals so they told Fangio that Gannon was staying so he should take the Miami job to not be left out of a coordinator job.
Unclear how big of a deal this is. Fangio is obviously the architect of this defensive system and Desai was his right hand man for a few years. If Desai is the real deal, it actually probably worked out better this way for the Eagles since Fangio is old, they already moved up in the draft because of the tampering, and if Desai gets hired as a HC, they'll get two 3rd round picks.
To be fair I thought I read he was a consultant on helping the Eagles offence plan for the Chief's D. Although I could be remembering wrong.

? Doug ran basically the same play against them for a touchdown. This game will stick with all of us to some degree til they win again, and some never will.
This seems like an owner ego type thing because I can't think any players, coaches, day to day staff want this added onto their training camp.
