How many people thought the Sixers would be this dismal, injuries or not? It’s early in the season but soon they’ll be in a hole they can’t climb out of. I’m kind of in awe of their terrible record
I absolutely had them crushing it this year. At this point its all mental, they expect to lose and its happening. They need a victory, not an OT victory either. I really thought they were going to pull off the upset against the Cavs, they hung with them all game. I believe winning that one would have seen them turn it around.

then blowing the 19 point lead, its all just stacking misery.

I know these players can shoot, we have all seen it. this isnt suddenly a lack of skill, its a lack of confidence.

I did. Paul George is nothing when healthy. And that rarely happens. There were no decent free agents available during the off season. Joel Embiid can’t stay healthy because the NBA doesn’t call obvious fouls as others teams hack him relentlessly. The Sixers are the worst drafting team in the NBA. The Sixers front office is a turnstile for nincompoops. And Josh Harris ain’t from Philly.

Lately they have been pretty good, (Maxey, and McCain (so far)). Not every pick will be a home run, but those two have been great

It's nearly 20% of the season. They aren't playing any of the top teams in the league the next couple weeks. If they continue to sputter by mid December shut it down.

But what does that mean, "shut it down". They're not going to sit (or trade) Embiid, PG, or Maxey.

Embiid and George are probably going to miss another 20 games by themselves. So they might not have to make any decisions on them not playing. The issue is they only keep their pick if it is top 6. So they are in a tricky situation. They just were down 20 in the 4th to Memphis without Morant, that doesn't bode well for this season.

Don’t make me run down the list of #1 overalls and top 10’s that have been absolute busts.

Oh I agree, it's a bad situation and there's no guarantee that the team will really gel if and when everyone is healthy. When Embiid says that he doesn't know what they're trying to do on offense that's a real problem beyond injuries and so on. But even if Embiid and PG are more or less part-time I don't think they'll end up keeping that pick.

Gotta admit I didn't see this team exploding in a fiery inferno like this. Quite amazing if you step back and look at it objectively

Per Kyle Neubeck

Joel Embiid is managing swelling in his left knee. In consultation with the team’s medical staff, Embiid missed tonight’s game and will also miss Sunday’s game. He is receiving treatment and further updates on his status will be provided early next week

BTW, I also read that Nick Nurse told the reporters that Embiid was there and going to go through his normal work-outs... but then they noticed his entire locker looked untouched and his brace was in it.
