I wrote this about McCain in Summer League:

Don't really care about McCain missing makable shots. I know it's a plus skill. Even saw him variate his release off the catch. I know it's SL, but my takeaway is he isn't having much trouble off the dribble with his not ideal athleticism. Surprised by his PnR, passing, and drive game. Definitely see the smarts.

That seems to be translating against better players -- with the shot. I lol'd when McCain drew a foul trying to put OG on a poster. He has real combo guard potential, with an improved handle. Loved him giving Embiid his easiest bucket of the night on an entry pass, plus the DHOs for days. But for an unathletic small guard, he gets to spots and has good body fakes. They're simply too ass shooting where he can't get a lot of run.

2-9 isn't bad

It's bad, it's just not informative (the East being a dumpster fire is nice). They've played 2 games with only 2/3 of their Big 3 on the court. PG was rusty, and they had their best game all season against the Suns. Embiid was mega-rusty last night but PG looked great. Yabusele and McCain being forced into big minutes roles early could pay serious dividends.

Trade George. Trade Embiid. Trade Maxey.

Build around Jared McCain and Reggie Jackson.

Jim Cramer and DancingPanther. My boys don’t miss. ❤️
Plenty of time for the classic sixers "forget how to play basketball for half the 3rd quarter"

Other than Caleb Martin spending the off-season modeling his shot after a trebuchet, with him and PG and Embiid covering the defense, they could get frisky trying Maxey with McCain.

McCain utilizing the midrange well already is keeping defenders very honest.

I don’t pay close attention to the NBA anymore and Cleveland being this good is a little surprising. I’ve always thought Mitchell was one of those volume shooter scorers but I’m probably wrong. Just looking at their roster they don’t seem stacked in what is usually a super star driven league. Why they so good?
