As bad as things look at the moment, the Sixers are still a playoff team. Right now there are only two teams in the East with winning records. They might be playing themselves out of a top 2 seed but top 4 is still doable. When healthy (goes without saying really) Embiid, Maxey, and PG are about as good a big 3 as there is. And when the role players can go back to just being role players things should look a lot better.

They won't be a top 4 team lol. Top 6 maybe. Most likely 6-8. Most importantly, I just hope they avoid the play in because they're too mentally soft for a one and done game

I'm having a hard time understanding how Nick Nurse, who is supposed to be a pretty good coach, has failed to have this team playing any semblance of professional basketball without Embiid when everyone knew he wouldn't be available. Despite some obvious shortcomings (size being one) this team is scratch-your-head bad. It's like everyone forgot how to play basketball.
In Tor, it is well known that he let the vets run the offense off of feel and allowed most guys lots of rope. It's why guys like Achiuwa and Boucher thought they were skilled shooters instead of meat and potatoe players. Even with the Rapts 2-7 record, the plays they are running on offense is so much better than Nurse.

Nurse really cared about coaching efense and schemes. It's weird to hear that he isn't doing things for you guys to help you beat teams on that end of the court.

But you guys will still make the playoffs. Too many teams in the East wanting to tank and as you can see, only 2 teams playing well so far.

Losing the Pistons and Raptors games was where they put themselves in this hole. They could’ve beaten the 8-1 Suns in PG’s first game. That was the best watch by a mile. Next game, Maxey gets hurt.

I have definitely not loved Nurse’s rotations — can’t entirely crucify a coach leaning on some veterans in week 1 — but I just don’t know what anyone can do with small old farts and non-shooters and Drummond behind them. This team is not designed to win many games with 2/3 of Embiid, Maxey, PG not available.

Meanwhile, Giannis and Dame have missed 1 game combined and the Bucks are 2-7.

No PG in OT? I understand the minutes restriction but if this comes down to the wire I think I’d like to see him out there.

Disasterclass win. Entertained but woof. Figures they closed it with clutch rebounding.

It’s increasingly obvious who needs to play more minutes on this team and who needs to play less. Check 2 of these or hit the bench:

6’4+
< 30 years
> .35 3P%.

You do know that Embiid is not under 30 and shoots under 35% from 3 for his career?
