I enjoy the assumption you're making that Gostisbehere and Provorov will be Flyers. Lord knows we need it.

Lindblom, Sandström and Vorobyov in action today, Sweden U20 vs Russia U20. 4-nations tournament in Finland. It is a good test for players before WJC.

The game is 1-1 in the middle of the 2nd period, probably no streams available, unfortunately.

Sandström should be backup in this game (Söderström is starter). Lindblom on top line with Holmström and Eriksson Ek. Vorobyov should be in the line-up for Russia.

Sanheim will start with the Phantoms. Count on it.

Yeah I see that a well.

Personally, I see Provorov and Ghost making it for sure. Then possibly 1 of Marti, Hagg or Morin.

Sanheim can get used to playing against men and figuring out what he can and can't get away with.

I don't think Cousins in waiver exempt so decision time on him. Alt too I believe.

I'm not sold on Hextall's concept that all twenty year olds have to start in the A. If the kid is a better player than a veteran that is on the roster, the kid wins the spot. I put a lot of credit on Hakstol being able to work well with young players. Right now I have a hard time believing that Sanheim isn't a better player than Gudas, Manning or a couple of other guys on the D.

Game is over 3-2 OT win for Russia against very good Swedish team. Shots: 30-13 for Sweden. Probably not the best game for Söderström. Seems like Sandström was not even backup for this game. No points for Lindblom or Vorobyov.

Vorobyov centered 3rd line, played with Guryanov and Kaprizov.

In less than one hour, there will be game between Finland and Czech republic.

David Kase is wearing C for this tournament and should play as a LW on the top line for Czech republic. Very good roster for Finland, includes Puljujarvi, Aho, Hintz, Laine or Saarela. Not so good for Czech rep.

Sandstrom likely plays tomorrow, 3 games in 3 days.

Lindblom was on 1st line: Eriksson Ek -- Holmstrom -- Lindblom

he had 3 shots, was -1.

Vorobyov was with Guryanov & Kaprizov. He went 50% on dot, 1 shot, -1.

The Swedish top line (even if Nylander is not released) should be lethal if they can get chemistry. All 3 already good SHL players.

Sanheim is definitely better than some of our current D. Most of our kids are. Besides the 8 players with NHL contracts being in the way, another reason they aren't on the big club is that Hextall believes that more experience in their current league will be better for their overall development than having them in the NHL.

I agree that all these players will benefit from this year of development. It will probably be better for the Flyers long term to let these guys become studs before making the transition instead of bringing them in and hoping they develop into studs

Sanheim had a bad camp and a bad preseason game, and is still growing into his body and adding weight. So I was totally on board with him going back to the WHL and getting to play in the WJC-20.

Provorov is more physically mature and better defensively, so I think he'll be in the NHL as a 19 year old unless he flames out in camp, too.

Just because a kid is better than a veteran doesnt mean that a kid playing in the NHL too soon wont hurt his development and prevent him from reaching his max ceiling. We've seen it time and time again (Hi, Luke Schenn).

Hextall don't play that.

Doesn't Lindblom play LW??? Why stick him on RW? Lack of options?

He plays both very well. He actually spent all of last year in the SHL at RW, but then played mainly LW at WJC.

Sweden seem to want to put their best, most mature, three forwards together... and Eriksson Ek plays LW pretty well, while Linblom plays both positions and has no trouble switching between.

Well, I think the Phantoms are fun this season, outside of all the injuries.

I think Marti has more of a chance to make the Flyers next year than people seem to think. He;s already had two solid seasons playing for Genève-Servette HC. He probably uses this season to get used to the small ice again and then has a good shot next season.
