Gleason has a healthy minus 6. It's not a minus 6 because he is crap, it's because the team has been crap. Franson is another story for instance, you can pin a lot on him.

Gleason's been pretty crap since the break. Franson has been decent or at least much improved from his pre-break play.

The entire team left the dressing room after THE REFS told both teams to go to the dressing room, and at Carlyle's direction.

You're flat lying, and making stuff up to create false narrative, and you're really lousy at it.

So you want him to ignore Carlyle and ignore the refs, be rebellious and do otherwise to prove to you he's a good leader? What a joke!

You obvious did not watch the game and you are calling me a liar :shakehead:shakehead about 5 Tampa Bay players stayed on the ice, and several Leafs players never went to the dressing room....I was at the game...got the tickets from a Leaf player as I was in town. Ranger was laying on the ice about 20 feet away from were I was sitting. I posted the pictures I took all ready on here.....Dion was no where to be seen!

Joking aside, really? 11th, 12th and 16th in Norris voting is something you're hanging your hat on?

Here you go a picture live from the game after the refs called the period:any questions?

I was at the game too... Phaneuf did leave the ice... with Ranger's equipment. Franson left the ice too. Both came back and stood there with the rest of the team. 3 Tampa players waited, one being Kostka.

Phaneuf was on TSN radio this afternoon, anyone catch it?

If so, please provide a summary.

You're delusional. That's what's wrong. Do you wash his car or something? There's no excuse or rationalization in defending Celine. He's a turnover machine and too slow in his own zone. He cannot read plays. That's not due to exhaustion. That's simply because he is a mediocre dman at best. He's okay at the point for PPs and even that is stretching things. He gets outsmarted and constantly loses battles. I'm not sure what it takes to convince oblivious apologists. No wonder this franchise can easily dupe the fans.

All those things you pointed out he can't do, he did well before the olympic break. Not saying that's an excuse, but he's earned a bit of rope. It always seems in this town people are waiting in the weeds for him to make mistakes so they can jump all over him.

That was taken 15 minutes after the ref stopped the period......Dion came out about 20 seconds before this pic.

Excellent work contradicting your initial report that Phaneuf was no where to be seen. Phaneuf did come back on the ice after the referees told everyone to go back to their dressing rooms.

When Ranger got hurt the ref called the period over since the medical team was extra careful and it was only 4 seconds left on the clock. Dion then went to the dressing room but came back 5-10 minutes later or for how long Ranger was on the ice to see him being brought of the ice on the stretcher.

I dont know why Dion left the ice and I will not use it as an argument against him. It did look weird at the time with Tampas captain on the ice but not the Leafs.

Wrong.....the players who were in the pic I posted never left the ice.....and the refs never told any of them to leave....I was right there.

I never contradicted myself at all....I said that he left the ice while his team mate laid on the ice waiting for a stretch....that is a fact! He did come out of the dressing room after 15 minutes. I have posted my pics that support the facts!

Half the team went to the locker room along with Carlyle. I assume he felt a Captain's requirement to go with his coach and make a statement to the players there. Then come out to check on his teammate afterwards. For god's sake, let this issue go. I'm sure the players don't even care, so why do the fans? It's stupid.

Perhaps Red Bull dont want to be associated with losses?

Fortunately, I was too quick to judge as it seems like Phaneuf cleared it up the following day:

“With the way the game went, I decided not to talk,†Phaneuf told the Tim and Sid show. “You can have your opinion on whether that is right or wrong, but I didn’t want to say something when my emotions were running high.

“At that point in time I was disappointed in the way I played and I was emotional. I made some mistakes that are uncharacteristic of the way I play and take responsibility for those mistakes."

Some other from the post-game:

“It’s more of a psychological thing than it is physical,†said Lupul. “It seems like once we get down we’re playing with no fear. We’re letting some of our skill take over, our defencemen are rushing the puck out of our zone, making plays. And at the start of the game we seemed a little tentative.â€
“We’ve got to find a way to get off to a better start,†Leafs forward James van Riemsdyk said in the rather bleak post-game Leafs locker room. “That’s the million-dollar question right now. It seems like every time we get down we start to ramp it up and it’s always too little too late.
“It was like we were frozen for 30 minutes of the hockey game,†said Leafs coach Randy Carlyle. “There’s a lot of tension in our players. You could see it at the start of the game.â€

Diceman934, a lot of your criticisms regarding Phaneuf are fair and accurate. You're not a blind Phaneuf hater like some other posters, but you're really reaching with regards to the Ranger incident imo. You also lose some credibility in my book cause you rarely acknowledge any of Phaneuf's strong suits and bash him a ton. The Phaneuf fanboys can be delusional, but you can't be just as one-sided as they are.

Please.....a captain stays with his team mate waiting for the player to be taken off the ice....

It goes to leadership and the lack of it on the Leafs ......

He left with Ranger's stick and gloves... as did Franson who you continue to conveniently leave out of this. Scapegoat mentality at its finest

Congratulations for catching up with the rest of the world that Phaneuf left the ice and then came back while Ranger was being assisted by the medical staff.
