Just my opinion but the overall aesthetic of the Lake Tahoe game was the best of any outdoor game the NHL has done yet. Better than any ballpark or football stadium.

I'm biased of course but I think Fenway has been the best of the ballpark/stadium venues. It's just iconic and has all the history, and all the Boston sports teams are interconnected so it's not that weird to see the place turn black and gold for a day, plus it's not too massive so the rink doesn't feel miles away from the crowd. But even so I agree, the Tahoe game was better still. I loved the way it brought hockey back close to its roots, and of course the location was stunning. It felt special.

It would be great if the NHL could do more such games but in a normal, non-pandemic times they most probably make no economic sense - lots of setup and logistical costs and almost no crowd revenue to compensate. So I doubt we'll see one again any time soon. Glad the Bruins were a part of 2021's.

Fenway has easily been the best ballpark venue. I thought the Leafs at the Big House in Michigan was another great venue from a visual standpoint the way the seats are laid out flatter when compared to some of the NFL stadiums they've used. Just the shear amount of people there in that setting.

I was thinking the same thing about Lake Tahoe, how they are unlikely to go there again due to cost and lack of ticket revenue. It's too bad because it was a really great experience even just watching it on TV.

Agreed! Always been one of my favorites since watching the Memorial Cup finals on the NHL Network in 2010. Cam Fowler as well from that team.

But, I've always wondered why he's never been tried at center ice. His speed and playmaking ability would be perfect at center. Perhaps he's terrible at faceoffs.
I've wondered that myself. I don't know if this stat is kept but when he has had to take face-offs, what is his +/- statistic?

Needed 36 hours to compress the 2023 WC experience.

As @Ladyfan knows the NHL totally bungled the placement of STH holders.

The NHL decided the PA announcer would be from Vancouver and the organ would be the Red Sox Josh Kantor instead of Ron Poster.

2010 was magical, 2023 not so much BUT it was far better than Foxborough in 2016.

Concessions were not unreasonable

The NHL KNOWS Boston and New England is their strongest regional market in the US and that is why they keep coming back.

TNT went all out on the coverage No hockey game in television history ever got the technical resources this game got.

I got a text Monday night that simply said 'excellent show' - it was from Mike Emrick watching in Michigan.

Wow, those prices are not too bad, I have seen a lot worse for much lesser events.

On a side note, it is still so amazing to see Miss Vickie's chips on the menu at such a huge event. The woman who started that company used to live on a farm pretty close to where we lived at the time it was started up. She made the chips by hand on her farm because she was close to losing it and wanted to try something new to try to save it. They used to be sold in our little local stores and we fell in love with them. When friends and family visited, they were blown away by them. The business grew steadily and she sold out to Lay's - I can't imagine how much she made. It makes my laugh that they still pretend to be Miss Vickie on the bag.

Overall, I liked most of the WC. The fact that the Bs won (after two periods of a snoozer) was a nice touch. The players have such great big personalities and appeared to have fun. It wasn't too cold and didn't rain.

The Bs in the baseball outfit was nice. Watching them with their families after the game was sweet.

When we purchased our seats, they were at center ice and looked great. That is what we paid for. Once they changed the layout we were at the end and couldn't see half the ice so that was very disappointing.

They won and it is probably the last Winter Classic I will go to. I will watch the next on TV if I am still around.
