So far this season a .911 save percentage and 2.66 GAA. Just stopped 33 of 34 vs Florida.
Well the coach is actively sabotaging the team and management seems to not care so yeah sure trade Mrazek while he’s hot.Trading away Mrazek at this point, for Chicago, would be damning their young players to an even more miserable year than they're already experiencing.
At some point, you have to show that you're willing to try and win games. What message would it send to Bedard and co if they just announce that they want the team to lose every game this season?

He has a stigma for some injury riddled years but he's been absolutely solid for awhile now. Without googling I'm willing to be he's top 5 in shots against and minutes played the last 2 seasons.
He'd be a great TDL acquisition OR a great trade him and get a nice return for Chicago. Eg. could they get a younger player that will align better with their future (which looks bright). Mrazek is like Larkin.. when the team gets good he'll be past his window.
My offer is Pickard + Jeff Skinner to the Hawks for him and I imagine a sweetener is needed. 2nd rounder?
I would probably have a heart attack if Mrazek returned to the Canes and was the starter in the playoffs. I'd have to buy a Necas Canes jersey!Canes reunion could make sense but they won't do anything until there is more clarity on Freddie's recovery and closer to deadline. If he returns at full health well before the deadline as projected, the Canes won't make any moves in net. If there are setbacks or something else comes up with him (can never count it out with Freddie), then I think a play for Mrazek becomes a lot more likely if he's still available.
necas will be cold by that time, historical 72 point season incoming...I would probably have a heart attack if Mrazek returned to the Canes and was the starter in the playoffs. I'd have to buy a Necas Canes jersey!

Don't want to trade him. He probably returns a 2nd at best and we have had plenty of those. It's not worth torching our stability as our young D is getting better and better. We're already a bottom 5 (at best) team with Mrazek so we get nothing from dealing him.
and ends tomorrowIf you told me before the season started that he'd get 72 points.. I'd be thrilled!
His new streak started last night!lol
So that's my argument.Sensible. The Hawks need stability more than more 2nd round picks.
Frankly at full retention (which makes him a bargain and a guy a lot of teams could afford), I think he’d fetch a late 1st. Allen with two springs left on his contract got a 3rd at the top of that round that could become a 2nd (unlikely though). That’s for a guy who was clearly a veteran backup and nothing more. Mrazek is light years better.
But yeah, doesn’t seem removing him from the Hawks is going to help in the development of their younger guys or team development vision.
It ends after he loses in Game 7 against my Oilers! He's going on a RUN!and ends tomorrow
Even if his streak continue, he is going to get 3rd line therapy from BrindAmor. It ends after he loses in Game 7 against my Oilers! He's going on a RUN!
So that's my argument.
Hawk's are finishing 5th with or without Mrazek.
Get something of value for the future because this season is a tank (on purpose).
You trade him.. get a top 5 pick and a good young player in return (not a 2nd)
vs
You don't trade him... get a top 5 pick.
Why wait?I would probably have a heart attack if Mrazek returned to the Canes and was the starter in the playoffs. I'd have to buy a Necas Canes jersey!
Mrazek is worth a 2nd. Not what are you adding so Chicago takes 2 cap dumps? He has a stigma for some injury riddled years but he's been absolutely solid for awhile now. Without googling I'm willing to be he's top 5 in shots against and minutes played the last 2 seasons.
