Rangers not selling. Looking to add on the cheap to go deep. Would a couple mid round picks be enough for Bowen to back up Parsons?

A little uncomfortable going with the 07 Schaubel as the back up.
I think they’d likely prefer a young body in return. More of a depth guy they could give a chance to I would imagine.

Not here to start the debate about the "cycle" of building, going for it, blowing it up and then rebuilding it again. I understand why some teams have to use it but I also see why some teams do not. I personally hate it and IMO it really makes it hard in the smaller communities to warmup to the teams. But after you all won the OHL Championship by beating an equally skilled London team we all knew where it was headed. I do not live and breath Petes hockey but will admit that loss was a tough one to swallow. In hindsight we were a very young core but in true Knights style you go for it. Now I would have thought at this point the team would be further along or at least poised to show significant improvements for Year 3 success? I know there lots of MO and love for anything Petes related but how is the report card looking so far? CHEERS .....

I’d say Guelph set the goalie market for someone like Bowen.

Not sure he returns the same as him. Was thinking maybe a 3 and 5 or 4,5

Targeting a 06 if they could get one for Bowen would be ideal. Maybe something like a pick and Tyler Graham from Oshawa?
Gillespie 4.24 GAA .869 SA%

Bowen 3.55 GAA .905 SA%

Same age. Brown has better stats on a worse team and played through the brutal start. No reason we should accept less than what Guelph got.

Just not sure there’s much of a market for a team to pay that price now. Teams like Oshawa and Kingston have spent most of their top picks. I’d be happy with 2 picks in the 3-6 range or a pick and player

I think Bowen is the better goalie and although he was a rookie he still has OHL playoffs and OHL Finals experience. I wonder if this has more to do with the Petes wanting to keep him than anything. Wilson is always raving about Bowen and could this be a "Bowen gives us the best chance to win games in the 2nd half" type of situation? Not saying that is the case but I would hope not. If the Petes left the Gillespie offer on the table for example, that would have been silly. Can't let this turn into another Sztuska mismanagement of assets again. Who knows what will happen but either way it is quiet quiet quiet in Petes land this deadline!

Well they must have a good idea if a Rye/Johnston tandem is what they wanna do next year. I don’t see how Bowen is on the team next year as a OA so keeping him to maybe win 10 more games this year is foolish. Really hope that Brampton offer wasn’t on the table for the petes and they turned it down…

Part of me really just doesn't see how it wasn't on the table in some capacity. Bowen has better numbers and 6 more games of playoff experience.

Yes he does but Gillespie also has 30 more regular season games on Bowen basically half a season. Bowen also has a injury history and I’m sure that played into Brampton’s decision if they were deciding between the 2 maybe they went for the more reliable guy? Or the Petes roll with a Bowen and Johnston tandem next year and move past rye only things I can think of

As hard as it will be for many Petes' fans to cheer for Stonehouse, who has been a thorn in the Petes' side for a few years now, he will be an upgrade offensively. My greatest hope at this point is that he is a positive influence on McCallum.....they have a similar style of play.
