Oshawa’s 6th goal goes in to officially put the Petes in a tailspin!
On the bright side…..it will be that much more exciting when they turn things around and go deep into the playoffs

Lets not get on the players. They didnt get outworked. Last night they outplayed Kingston, tonight they outplayed Oshawa. Look at some of the previous posts from tonight, They were dominating the game and play. The REASON they lost was goaltending. Plain and simple.
You need to understand something were not getting on the players we love our team we expect better thats all we have added a lot of skill but something is a miss? Hear rumblings of too many egos in the room? Perhaps we need to hear from our coach? All we as fans want is our team to do well.

He should have been out much earlier for the extra attacker as well.
How many times have we succeeded with goalie out? Hold a lead!

Never seen Wilson pull a goalie? Why is that? Sometimes you have to?
But dont put it all on our goalies? We need to manage the puck better , get it out when pressured, move our feet in defensive zone and not be chasing in our own end for prolonged stretches? And stay out of the penalty box! One of the Oshawa goals the guy dangled around like 3 Petes? Knock him on his keester perhaps?

That'd be letting the players off the hook pretty big. Petes 3rd line was really good. Their top 6 did absolutely nothing 5-on-5 (or even on 5-on-4 PPs) the entire game, against a very young D-core and a backup goalie.

1st Gens goal: NHL 1st rounder Stillman gets walked by the 2nd youngest player in the league for his 1st ever goal

3rd Gens goal: Avery Hayes gets a chance to clear, doesn't, then leaves the zone early trying for a breakaway and his man is open in the slot and scores.

4th Gens goal: brutal turnover for Gauvreau up the middle right to Roobroeck, he scores unassisted.

5th Gens goal: Ritchie dangles Spearing to get to the net for the initial shot, then beats Mayer to the rebound to tie the game

7th Gens goal: Avery Hayes with a wide open one-timer chance in the slot and he misses completely, Butler grabs stand scores into the empty net

And with 3:18 left during a big scrum Owen Beck grabbed the puck and shot it into the Gens net, which is a penalty 10/10 times. He got supppppper lucky the ref didn't call that. Would've been an all-time stupid penalty to take with 3:18 left in a 1 goal game. Couldn't believe anyone would do that, let alone a guy who's with a new team and struggling
Singled out several players, but not White?

Not doing season tickets next year. Sorry but I don’t need the grief. Love the Petes but don’t like a missed opportunity like we had this year. Might have been better to keep everyone we traded? Coaches cant coach all these big egos I guess. They’re kids after all so it’s all good. Go Petes.
Can't say 'Go Petes' like that after bailing lol

I understand your emotion though, its not a good feeling

Singled out several players, but not White?
I went through each goal where a specific player, who wasn’t Simpson, was clearly at fault. White was a -3 and not noticeable at all, but he didn’t blatantly cost them a goal.

It really does feel like every time the Petes have a big night (huge crowd, great event, really well run last night), the team no shows. It's so frustrating.

I don't really know if a coaching change is the answer, I just think it may be the only card left to play. How do you add Othmann, Beck, Hayes, White and everyone forgets how to score.

absolutely right. 20 games left and this is the final chance to show something. Insane talent and there is no more excuses anymore. Prioritize winning, accountability, discipline, and HARD WORK NOW

When these lines have been used
Beck-Hayes-Othmann and Robertson-Avon-Lockhart
the bolded line struggled.

IMO Robertson's line will always be going.
Robertson is so good all-round that he raises the level of whoever he plays with.

Beck, on the other hand, has really struggled to connect with anyone yet.
Between the WJC and the game in Montreal he's really only been a Pete for a minute.

I don't think it's time to panic yet......the Petes still have 7 weeks and 20 games left after tonight.

Stillman is back tonight which gives the Petes a full lineup again......Purdeller has played well recently though.

I know Othmann scored a hat-trick the other night but he drives me crazy.
Why the between the legs passes?
If he is trying to surprise the opposition with the unexpected, I wish he would only do it close to the opposition's goal. And the pass back to Sztuska last night looked cool but wasn't necessary.

He may need to spend time on the 3rd line.

Speaking of which......would spreading Dubois, Stillman, Melee across the top 3 lines be too crazy?
I just think 3 lines who focus on playing well at both ends of the ice, wearing down the opposition and capitalizing on offensive opportunities when they arise might create more of a "team-like" atmosphere.

Beck - Avon - Stillman
Robertson - Melee - Hayes
Dubois - Othmann - Lockhart
Last night

Avon-Robertson-Lockhart and Hayes-Beck-Stillman
the bolded line struggled.

I’d like to see Meelee-Beck-Stillman.
Robertson (PP) & Beck can get extra shifts with Othmann & Hayes when goals are needed and play warrants it as 10-12 minutes, occasionally more is plenty for Dubois imo.

The TV commentator said that Othmann was "fighting an illness".
Is that hockey speak for healthy scratch?

Initially I was not an Othmann fan. However at the world juniors he said "I am a Peterborough Pete" and then flashed a big grin. I love him for that!
He could have said "I was recently traded to the Petes" or something different but he was so proud to say "I am Peterborough Pete".
I know its shallow and has nothing to do with hockey talent but That's it for me - he is proud to be a Pete and now I love him !

What discipline there is none and no accountability with Coach Wilson?

He wouldn’t be there if he was sick lol makes no sense
What makes no sense is why they would healthy scratch him. We saw nothing blatant in game. Just going with what conversations I had

So unless something happened behind the scenes that we don't know about then we may never know. Heard the same things from everyone saturday

To send a message. Same reasons why Flint wanted him gone he’s not a team guy. Players who are scratched because they are “sick” would be told to stay home especially in this day and age with Covid and what not.

Go to the Wolves thread and listen to new coach D.M speak after our OT loss to Colts yesterday. We struggled with discipline before he arrived. Now we never get out worked and we have ACCOUNTABILITY!!!
