It would be rare that a back to back 40 goal player isn’t signed and sent to the AHL.

You have to remember that if Seattle doesn’t sign him this coming summer and sends him back to junior unsigned, there is no incentive for him to sign with Seattle. He doesn’t go back into the draft. He is a free agent. He can sign an ELC with any NHL team that suits his situation best.

If Seattle signs him, they will want the development in their hands in the AHL.
They have his rights until June 1, 2024.

Yes. If Seattle doesn’t sign him next summer (2023), then he goes back to Junior For an OA season.

The challenge for Seattle is to sign him once he goes back to Junior. Once Robertson returns to Junior, he is in junior until his season is over. So, there is no true incentive for him to sign with Seattle at that point. He can pick and choose who he wants to sign with that suits him best. As soon as June 1, 2024 comes along, he is a free agent. he doesn’t go back into the draft. He can sign with whoever he wants to.

The only sacrifice Robertson makes by giving Seattle the snub after they reassign him to the OHL for the 2023-24 season is the short window after his junior season is over. he’d likley be traded to a contender so he’d probably play through Sometime in April? Maybe May if he goes to a really strong OHL team? That leaves very little time for him to be signed by Seattle and reassigned to an AHL team. He’d probably sacrifice five game max by deciding to wait for June 1 to be a free agent. That isn’t a big sacrifice.

So, it is incumbent on Seattle to sign him this summer and assign him to he AHL. If they don’t, Robertson can simply decide to wait out the time between the end of his junior season and June 1 and sign wherever suits him best.

Thank you. A franchise like Seattle may want to send him back to junior to dominate and gain some muscle Strength is a top priority for tucker. They know his play making ability but he’ll need to bulk up to make it work at pro lvl. Thinking a Steve Lorentz path. A year or two between echl and ahl then up to full time Ahl get some nhl games and make the jump to nhl around 24-25 years old when strength is there. Thinking out loud. It could happen

Let me try to poke some holes in this for fun. And remember, this is just a for fun exercise.

The proposed lineup that has been posted seems very top heavy. Two really good lines provided BeckA nd Othmann click. The third line is going to have to contribute more as a shit down line. It doesn’t look like there will be significant offence coming from it. Stillman is fine at a point per game but Melee and Dubois are supplementary players. The fourth line is garbage but who cares? This means the offence is going to have to be carried mostly by two lines.

On the back end, White and Mayer will carry the offensive load. They are more than fine for that. No questions there at all. Zannetti, Smith and McCoy are fine as complementary defensive guys That can move the puck. Spearing rounds out the group as the team leader but injury issues are a problem.

Nothing wrong at all with Simpson in net.

Solid team for sure. Gotta hope injuries don’t creep into the top two lines. Not a lot of depth past those two lines. That is where the Achilles Heal seems to be, depth.

To me the success of the Petes boils down to the top heavy front two lines. They will need ot score consistently against the other teams in the playoffs. A team like North Bay has a lot more depth and a really good front line. Speaking from an honest position, I am not sure who to pick between North Bay and Peterborough. I tend to lean towards teams with more depth. Injuries happen and the depth comes in handy for injury replacements. I think I lean towards North Bay right now.

We wills ee what Ottawa does. If they do add Morrison, Mintyukov and another piece, I’d need to reevaluate the seeding.

I think Barrie sits in 4th at this point. Everyone knows my issue with Wright. And they really need to surround Wright with a couple players on top of him. We shall see what they end up doing but I’m not worried about Barrie at this point.
Meelee-Dubois-Stillman will be an excellent 3rd line. That team is so fast!
NB also has a killer roster.
Should the ‘67s & Colts add as expected, the east will have four teams loaded to the extent that I’ve never seen. The ‘67s need to get in the Miss or KGN sweepstakes or hope Flint sells if there is truth to Morrison wanting to finish his career a bulldog.

I assume there won’t be any more deals. Although another depth defenceman would be ideal

If you sit the Petes and NB roster side by side, which do you feel has a better chance? I’m leaning toward NB but it is damn close!

Ottawa has Morrison for picks. Official.

Well we now know Wright will end up in Barrie most likely... I think Hache will be added in as well IMO. Only other piece I think that will be dealt is Hardie. Maybe North Bay swaps an OA out for him. Morrison and Mintyukov will be in Ottawa IMO.

Then all the small deals will take place after. McCallum, Anania, Larmand guys like that.

Imagine that Stillman on the third line. He must be thrilled! And New Jersey must be firing the scout that recommended him in the first...

Othman-Beck-Lockhart
Avon-Robertson-Hayes
Melee- Dubois- Stillman
Page-Lefebvre- Purdeller

A little something like that when everyone is available ?
No chance they mess with the Avon-Robertson-Lockhart line that’s been putting up a ton of points

Idk. I prefer the Battalion team over any for playoffs. But the Petes accumulation of speed and experienced 200’ foot players is mind blowing. I think there are three 18 yr olds among top 9 F, 6 D, starting goalie with the rest 19-20

Stillman was thought of as a can’t miss 3rd line winger in his draft year, so …. Boucher was a 1st round pick as well. Sometimes selecting a player that will be an NHL player of need is a good idea.
WJ, The Petes top six is sick

Just a side note…

Panwar lines up tonight for Hamilton as the first line centre. Finally a team that treats him with the respect he deserves.

I hope you like Beck because Panwar in Hamilton is going to make you look really bad….

Just sayin’

I actually hope Panwar blooms in Hamilton.

I hope he succeeds because he didn’t bloom in Peterborough and hopefully in a different environment he could really do well.

The Petes were disjointed as hell tonight as you'd expect with 4 forwards out, one forward and one defenceman in (and did they get a practice in together?) but they found a way to win and Hayes made an instant impact. Can't wait to see what this team looks like a couple weeks from now.

This can't be a Barrie guy (128 GA in 34 games, NEGATIVE goal differential on the season, middling penalty kill) calling out the Petes (106 GA in 36 GP, +25 goal differential, top 5 penalty kill) ability to keep the puck out of the net, right?

I'm sure Clarke will bridge that 30+ goal gap though, not like he was a complete liability at the WJC or anything...
Clarke was by far the most frustrating player to watch for Canada. The immaturity reminded me of Merkley.

Not going to lie......he's a talented player but when his helmet fell off and he continued to skate around and get involved in the play I was screaming at the TV: "Go to the bench!". but he didn't listen.
Reminded me of my kids actually.
