Lavy might have been a difference maker for us in 13-14, 14-15, or 21-22. He may have put us over the hump with those teams. I think last year was a fluke considering how many come from behind victories we had.
You are not going to see an influx of youth playing pivotal roles with Laviolette. It's not his thing nor is it Drury's. You'll see your Reilly Smith's, Blake Wheeler's, etc.
If you want a retool with a youth movement, you can't keep Lavy. Simple as that. Lavy isn't trying to retool. He's coached long enough to where its a cup or bust every year. Look at how the Caps have done a 180 and allowed the kids to play key roles. Now they are young and hungry.
In the Drury/Lavy world, any problem can be solved by acquiring vets for picks. And Lavy can thus deploy those trusted vets.
