On the EK front I was talking about 50% retention. With planning, EK at 5 mil would have 100% got a 1st in this crazy sellers market.
Rust would definitely get a 1st in the summer. 103 points over his last 116 games in the last 2 seasons. 49 goals.
His AAV looks juicier with cap on the rise and the term would look enticing at this point for desperate teams looking for scoring.

I don't see any open door for trading Rakell. Dubas quite clearly talked about him being part of the re-tool, stated his desire to be here, and how he wants those guys.
Passing on the big offers at this deadline just to sell for less in the summer makes no sense.
You're assuming there were offers on the table for Rakell, EK, and Rust that included first round picks. I find this highly unlikely. Guys with term remaining on their deals are MUCH harder to move at the TDL than in the offseason. Condemning Dubas for narratives you've conjured (and likely didn't happen) seems silly to me. It's clear KD was intent on selling what he could. It's become clear that the Rantanen situation in Carolina held things up. Nothing KD could do about that. Not to mention what I've previously said vs: the likelihood that firsts would be sent our way for Rust & EK at the TDL anyhow.

Zero goal, three assist Dewar in over Heinen. It doesn’t even matter but it’s so f***ing predictable. At least Sully got the second line correct.
Matters for Heinen's trade value.
Ah well. This coach has truly become detestable. I used to really like him and feel secure with him too.

Time, corruption and having his Cups already have totally destroyed him.

It's a good thing that dogshit players like Dewar and Imama are playing imo. The goal is to lose a lot for the rest of the season. Shit, I'd slip a team doctor a couple grand and tell him to advise Sid to sit out to rehab his wrist or he'll require surgery in the off season.

Lol J4rry starting this game. Guaranteed loss
Oh you underestimate the emotional wreck MAF is going to be. You think he was a headcase before?
Our only hope is the Big 3 throw him a bone as a going away gift. But I'm afraid with SidBot that's never going to happen.

Bro, flower literally already beat us in October lol. Sid might get a few points, but it'll be irrelevant when Jarry let's in the first 6 shots.

Term adds value if the player is still bringing it and has a good AAV. You're also not accounting for the rising cap and nature of the market this year at all. There was heavy interest in Rakell at this deadline, per multiple sources.
If you think that Beauvillier and Schenn can net 2nds and Rakell would not have gotten a 1st, then I dunno what to tell ya. Dubas outright said that he wanted to keep him, which is him alluding to rejecting offers.

Look at what Nelson brought back. He was just a rental. Now they'll have to overpay to re-sign him, in accordance with the rising cap. Whereas Raks is at 5 mil with term.

Rust has an NMC til the summer. I wasn't talking about trading him at this deadline. But they'll keep him too. You'll see.

I mean you're free to say I'm conjuring or whatever, but it just tells me you slept through this deadline.

If TJ lets in the first shot, he should be pulled and immediately driven to the airport for the first flight to Wheeling.

I find it weird that so many people want this team to tank but then also get mad about Jarry playing. You are aware playing him most likely means the Penguins draft pick will be better, right?

The way Novak plays makes me think he'd be a very good fit with Crosby. Definitely doesn't have the physicality that Crosby's wingers usually have but he looks very intelligent on the ice and makes quick plays.

Very shifty, reminds me of Sheary but bigger.
