We have to consider also, that most teams would suffer being without their number 1 and 2 D-men, and then our number 5 in ice-time (and most dependable PK'er and crease clearer). These three guys also make up our entire starting RD group.

It really hurts.

It also hurts that our 1st line plays like a bag of nuts, winning zero battles, and that our coach wants the nr.1 PP to have neither net front presence nor anyone with size anywhere close to goal, unless Malkin goes there like when we scored. It is predictable and weak. What hurts, too, is that with these injuries, apparently Dumo and Ruh is considered our top PK duo. But with who is missing, I suppose it actually is.

Praise be upon the Geno'th and the Zuck'ed. Lest we be f***ed.

Completely agree, I am not expecting much. A win here or points for that matter would be excellent.

Just frustrating to watch some of the things that are going on lately.

-Power play execution with all that talent on the ice. No excuse at to not be putting the puck in the net.
-Player usage with players that deserve more icetime (which in turn takes some pressure off L1) who is playing a lot and struggling.

Why they insist on Jake as the net front is mind boggling. Either put Rakell (more size) or Zucker (more grit) in that spot.

If Sully was a NBA coach he'd have his 5'11 point guard under the offensive net.

It is fun listening on the radio honestly because Bourque will tell you straight up when the team is garbage unlike the local tv idiots.

He was perplexed in the first why the Pens don't set up one timers on the pp. I can't say I disagree.

POJ is helped with Rutta or Petry on his D. Yes he has looked a little lost but he has some nice attributes to work with. He is 3rd pairing LD and anything above that just is much.

Do we even have guys who can one-time? Geno sort of can, but doesn't have the velocity he once did. Sid and Jake rely more on accuracy and snap/wristers, and I'm not sure what Rust does.

Only Rakell can fire one-timers from his off wing, but he either isn't on the unit or the puck isn't worked around to set him up for it.

L1 has to be dismantled, we can afford to have 3 out of 4 best forwards playing like shit, try to put them in some kind of different position, line change or something...Hopefully we get Tanger petry and Rutta back even at 60%

Pens should just bring Mario out of retirement as a pp specialist to man the half wall. Guaranteed his one-timer is still more lethal than the entire team, sans Malkin (maybe)

I don't think Rak has the willingness to do it much either. I blame Reirden for both not utilizing him properly and encouraging him. It's a waste.
I think Zucker could do it, if he ever got a damn chance. Dude's on pace for over 50 points with no PP1 or empty net situations.
