I think there's going to be a lot more losing before theres any winning. I'm not sure what some fans are expecting but if there upset already, it's going to be a rough ride for them.

that's not what you asked. SprDave said it best.
as of right now the Ducks suck, but Andersen does not
ergo: it is possible that a team can be bad/goalie not so much. this is the results, not "on paper"

i'm not saying Bernier sucks, but you asked.
the Ducks aren't scoring, they're not very good defensively, and they are the worst team in the league. that's where they are right now. they could turn it around

No, that is what I asked. If I wasn't clear before, I am right now. Give me a list of great goaltenders who played well on bottom 5 team, in an 82 game sample. I'll give you the answer, very little.

does Cory Schenider count? (i mean the Devils were 6th last year, but they were bad).

While the team can be at fault at times, he's let in some awful goals this year. He's also been very inconsistent. How can you play in front of that? He needs to be better because Reimer is worse.

They were more unlucky than bad, and he's been less inconsistent than the rest of the team. Same with Reimer. And before someone makes a snide remark, they have not be consistently "bad" either.

The way a team plays in front of that is to play better; if you are 30th in shooting percentage, you aren't going to win many games.

He's only been on the ice for 5 goals that the Leafs have scored. How does it feel as a goalie when your team doesn't even score a goal a game when you are on the ice while they are able to set up and play you like fools in your own zone... Not that great.

Im still not tired of it.

This team is far ahead of last years team where it matters. I can see the progression in the youngsters.
We can actually break out of our own zone and cycle the puck in the offensive zone now. Maybe it's not that entertaining but I'll take this over watching the other team's defensemen rim it around the boards to one another in our zone, laughing hysterically while four of our players collapse around the net and Kessel floats at the red line.

In the end I can keep grinding through the season like this. It's losing, but at least it's consistent losing and with effort. And the guys you are counting on to turn this team around...mostly aren't on this roster so it's not like it's hopeless.

I'm perfectly happy watching this for a season. I think some posters now want to get back to the salad days of finishing 9th one point out of the playoffs and drafting scrubs in the 1st round.

and we're not trapped in our own end for 1/2 the game. that was soo freaking frustrating.

I don't see anyone asking for great goaltending, most would settle for below average starter at this point.

You'd think Kessel would turn it up a notch to show up all his critics in Toronto. Instead he's hardly visible. It's no wonder he's booed.
