I said it this summer but I think taking on bad players like Hayes and Glass for picks, while the picks weren't good, showed a shift in approach for this team that we haven't seen in decades. They're still too stupid and/or arrogant to fully dismantle things, but even conceding that they're a team that can absorb bad players for draft capital is telling imo.
Jake made the decision for them, thankfully, although the return was meh. Hopefully they can manage to get like a late 1st and a 3rd for Petts and Eller respectively at the TDL. Rust should get something of value in the off-season. EK's gonna be a shitshow because of his contract, so you're gonna absolutely be required to retain 50% if you even want teams to entertain adding him.
At this point, just keep Sullivan. He's helping to ensure this team gets its best prospect, on paper, since Staal. Fire him the moment the season ends so he has no influence on the draft, FA, or has the ability to persuade the team to keep Rust this summer.
