The thing about compiling draft picks is that the organization compiling picks will still be a dumpster fire.

Compare the home grown talent on the Stars since Benn and Seguin joined the team compared to what the Pens have remaining around Sid and Geno. Rust? The guy who became productive by working hard who no longer plays hard? Yikes.

Keeping track of the team through 20, blah blah, team sucks but they're too arrogant and stupid to blow it up:

2022-23: 10-7-3, 72 GF, 65 GA
2023-24: 10-10-0, 61 GF, 52 GA
2024-25: 6-9-2, 47 GF, 68 GA thus far

Just tank the season. Ship out Petts and Eller at the TDL. Fire Sullivan on April 18th. Collect your hopefully top-5 pick. Trade Rust the moment his NTC drops. Ship out EK in the off-season for whatever. Settle in for the ugliness (that's already been here for years).

Dubas made shit moves this offseason in terms of improving the roster, but even he wasn't actually tanking. They didn't sell any players off.

So he's failing his own standard, and Sullivan is definitely failing by that count. Wtf is the plan man, they should not be this bad. They are slow as balls. and obviously Sullivan can't handle coaching a system that accounts for that, hence 9000 odd-mans against per game.

I said it this summer but I think taking on bad players like Hayes and Glass for picks, while the picks weren't good, showed a shift in approach for this team that we haven't seen in decades. They're still too stupid and/or arrogant to fully dismantle things, but even conceding that they're a team that can absorb bad players for draft capital is telling imo.

Jake made the decision for them, thankfully, although the return was meh. Hopefully they can manage to get like a late 1st and a 3rd for Petts and Eller respectively at the TDL. Rust should get something of value in the off-season. EK's gonna be a shitshow because of his contract, so you're gonna absolutely be required to retain 50% if you even want teams to entertain adding him.

At this point, just keep Sullivan. He's helping to ensure this team gets its best prospect, on paper, since Staal. Fire him the moment the season ends so he has no influence on the draft, FA, or has the ability to persuade the team to keep Rust this summer.

Whipping it around the boards or off the glass out of your zone every time you touch the puck is a system, right? RIGHT?

Don't forget doing that on zone entries too, when we accidentally skate it past the red line

Cause nothing is easier than a team of old or glacial skaters and guys who don't win any board battles than doing dump n chase

Pens have 1 win this season against a playoff team and even that was because the Caps didn't play hard.

You mean the same Mario and Burkle who checked out as soon as they hired Burke and Hextall?

Mario and Burkle saved the franchise.

Seems like a weird way to frame their exit.

They won us 3 cups.

The other issue is teams get home grown talent by amassing 1st round picks.

We moved Guentzel for a "win soon" package instead of just biting the bullet and getting a 1st, 3rd and a meh prospect for him.

We also apparently are going to let Pettersson's value deteroriate.

How the f*** is this guy living with himself?

How is he not spitting in the mirror first thing in the morning when he brushes his teeth?

This is a travesty, he’s f***ing acting and he’s being paid like an upper tier actor for it…

Edit: I really didn’t think I will ever hate anyone more than Dan Abysmal, and here we are.

I don't think this team is gonna fire Sully in season, even if they go on a 15 game skid. He's too highly respected, if anything changes, it'll be a sad, tearful, parting of ways this spring after the season's over.

And that's probably a blessing in disguise tbh. Sully behind the bench is a great way to increase your shot at a Martone, a Misa, a Frondell, a Schaefer, etc.

We’re currently fifth worst team in terms of point percentage but three of the other four still have games in hand on the Pens…just keep employing Sullivan…we could be in the top two soon…Hagens here we come, baby!…
