Well, now that you mention it ...

Actual GF - 33
xGF - 58

So the stats nerds running this club probably will say they were just unlucky and should have scored almost twice as many as they did score. :sarcasm:

See? We're still dominating the xGF scores even if we're losing the actual scores.
You lost me at "Well,".

I think it's gonna be really hard for him to walk away but man, I can't imagine he's gonna love plodding around the ice with a team collecting top-10 picks for very long.
With Sid being a borderline mental patient, he will play as long as he can because in his mind "what else am I supposed to do?"

Considering his dissatisfaction after the Guentzel trade, I can see him not signing an extension this summer, and see how the season goes.

I mean, why would he sign a commitment when clearly it seems like he and Dubas are not on the same page!

Oh yes, the young prodigy, the fancy of the novice! OK, so now the guy many of you have been clamoring for is getting his chance! Hopefully the next week or two will give you all the clarity I already enjoy with this glorified bust! After five long years it's time for Poulin to put up or be nothing more than a curtain jerker toiling in the minors.

Do you think it was for love of the game, or trying to give people a reason to buy tickets to watch Mike Eastwood and Dan Focht?

Both. Sid can potentially get to fifth overall in terms of points though if he continues to produce around a 60-80 pt pace for 3 years. I’m sure that matters to him. Could even get to third if he’s got the Sakic career arc in him.

If Sid's worried about chasing points, he'd better ask for a trade cuz shit's gonna be much harder than it's been for years now that he's gone from a competent Jake to Bunting.

You've completely missed the point. No one sees Poulin as a savior. Or a superstar. Or an all-star candidate. Or hell, even a mainstay in the top 6.
They're just hoping for a semi consistent, producing, top 9 forward. One that's hopefully an improvement over the useless plugs the team has been trotting out all season long. Nothing more. Nothing less.

The only question we should be asking is - is this enough to save the season? Can Poulin singlehandedly pull this team up by it's skatelaces and force it's way back into the playoff race?

Only time will tell.

In an alternate worldline, Sid gets traded to Colorado, goes on a tear with Big Mac, and ends up 2nd all-time in points.

Well, prepare to get a nothing burger. He might have the odd good game, but he's a plug.

If he can make the most of his 4 minutes of ice time, definitely!

Just hoping for 7 minutes of better hockey then what others have been doing on the ice.

Good cheap bottom 6 player is all I am hoping for.

Seems pretty unremarkable for a former 1st rounder, but at least your expectations seem reasonable. That said, I still doubt he'll be anything more than an AHLer. Or an emergency call up like this. I'd love for him to prove me wrong but I don't see that as very likely. lol

Those should be expectations for a 3rd or 4th rounder, not a 1st rounder even at draft pick 21st OA.
